Jamie walked in the dungeon, ready for the day. She loved hanging out with Loki and she was sure he felt the same.
She made it to his cell, to see him just pacing back and forth.

"Do you always pace?" she asked playfully, getting his attention.
He let a light chuckle as he answered, "Maybe I do."
She smiled as she entered his cell.
"I've been meaning to ask you something," Loki told her.
"And what might that be?" Jamie wondered.
"You told me that you wanted to be my guard because you can relate to me. Care to explain how?" he asked.
She remembered telling him that, but now she might as well tell him the whole truth since she felt he earned her trust. She ushered to the chairs that Frigga provided and they sat down.
She took a deep breath and explained, "Growing up, I always felt overshadowed by my siblings, even though in my defense I was pretty rebellious. It felt like no matter what I did, I was never appreciated. My older brother and younger sister did almost everything my parents expected of them while I felt like I was left in the dirt. It hurt a lot. I had my opinions while they had theirs, which always seemed to overpower mine. I know that Odin and Frigga aren't your biological parents and Thor isn't your biological brother, but if you really think about it, we are alike in some way."
Loki processed every word she told him. He realized how much more in common he had with Jamie because of that. Then he noticed a single tear go down her cheek as she looked at the floor. He reached over, gently wiped it away with his thumb, and lifted her chin to face him.
"Who knew that a mortal could know every being of my existence," he said, placing his hand back on her cheek.
Jamie smiled as she leaned into his touch.
Loki then thought of something that just might cheer her up.
"Are you fond of dancing?" he asked.
She looked at him and her smile got bigger as she answered, "Yes I am. I just never had a partner."
"And why is that?" Loki wondered.
"I guess I wanted to find the right partner," Jamie said.
(A/N Captain America reference!)
He nodded as he suggested, "Mind if we give it a go?"
"I don't mind at all," she responded.
She had brought a speaker and her phone, so she got it set up.
"It's like you predicted this," Loki chuckled.
"I may have planned this just in case you suggested it," Jamie admitted with a slight blush.
Loki just shook his head with a smirk. Jamie hooked the phone to the speaker and picked the song "The Sun is Rising" by Britt Nicole. When she turned back around, Loki was standing there with his hand out to her.
"May I have this dance, fair maiden?" he asked.
"I would be honored, kind sir," she answered as she accepted then pulled out the remote and hit the "Play" button.
He pulled her close and they began.
"What song is this?" Loki wondered.
"'The Sun is Rising' by Britt Nicole," Jamie answered.
"Would you sing it for me?" he requested.
"Sure," she said.

As they danced, she rested her head on his chest, resulting in him kissing her temple.

When the song ended, she lifted her head and their eyes met.
"What do you think?" Loki asked.
"I think I found the right partner," Jamie smiled.
They hugged for a minute until they sat to talk.
