Darcy, Jane, and the intern drove up to an industrial area, got out of the car, and approached a deserted factory.
"Come on this is exciting, look, the intern is excited!" Darcy exclaimed.
"Ian," the intern said his name.
"You want the phase meter?" Darcy asked.
"No," Jane answered.
Darcy tossed the car keys to Ian and told him, "Bring the phase meter. The toaster looking thing."
"I know what a phase meter is," Ian commented.
As they walked over a tipped over cement truck, Jane's cell phone started ringing.
"How do I change the ringtone on this thing?" she wondered.
"An astrophysicist with three degrees should be able to change her own ringtone," Darcy commented from the other end.
"Why are you calling me?" Jane asked.
"I didn't want to shout. Intern says it's this way," Darcy answered.
"Ian. My name's Ian," Ian stated.
As they walked in, birds left due to the sound of footsteps and a shadow passed by them.
"I am not getting stabbed in the name of science," Darcy decided then assured, "It's okay, we're Americans!"
"Is that supposed to make them like us?" Jane asked.
Three kids stepped out, whispering to each other.
"Oh, they're kids," Jane said.
"Are you the police?" the girl wondered.
"No we're scientists. Well, I am," Jane answered.
"Thanks," Darcy responded sarcastically.
"We just found it," one of the boys said.
"Will you show us?" Jane asked.
They brought them to a cement truck. One of the boys touched it, making it go in the air and slowly rotate. Jane gasped at this.
"That doesn't seem right," Darcy commented.
They went up a stairwell and one of the kids tossed a bottle down, but it disappeared.
"Where'd it go?" Jane asked.
The girl pointed up, making them all look up. The bottle reappeared, fell, then disappeared a few times until one of the kids caught it.
"That's-- That's incredible," Jane commented.
Jane got a can and dropped it. It vanished, but when they looked up, it didn't come back down.
"What happened?" Jane asked.
"Sometimes they come back, sometimes they don't," the girl answered.
"I wanna throw something! Jane, give me your shoe," Darcy stated.
Jane got the gadget Darcy showed her at the restaurant. The readings were going crazy.
"I haven't seen readings like this since... since..." Jane started.
"New Mexico?" Darcy finished for her.
Jane gave Darcy a look of disbelief and ran further up.
"Don't touch anything!" she called.
"Give me your shoe," Darcy told Ian.
Jane could see Darcy throwing things off the stairwell. Ian then threw in the car keys, but they didn't come back.
"Were those the...car keys?" Darcy asked.
Jane kept going through the building, getting readings. As she faced a doorway, an energy pulled her into a strange, dark place that was no longer in the building but rather a huge, dark cavern. She saw she was on the edge of a cliff that was never ending.
"Darcy!" she called.
She turned to see she was on a stone platform.
In a column, she saw a red glow inside it. She went towards it, noticing the BiFrost mark was around it. Tendrils floated out, making a screeching sound as they got closer to her. It went inside her and everything went black.
