Madras General Hospital.
Madras Central Jail.Rajan then asked Anamika to come with him and explain the situation to Colonel Stinson. "Colonel. Sir. She is the Hyderabadi doctor for whom I went to Hyderabad. It seems she reached Madras two days ago. She has something to say about all this madness" Rajan introduced Anamika to Stinson. "Oh. Hello Madam. Glad to meet you." Stinson said. He then kissed her hand and asked about the crowd. Anamika then says about the disease that was spreading around Madras. "Oh dear Lord.!! Looks like it's going to get worse. Miss Anamika. I may not be able to explain to the Governor-General, like you did to me. So if you don't mind can you please come with me" asked Stinson. Anamika accepted his invitation and they went to the Governor-General's car. Even though what Rajan said turned out to be the truth, Stinson didn't stop suspecting Rajan. He still felt Rajan was hiding something. Anamika didn't expect this kind of reception from the Colonel. She was used to the hard interrogation that happened to the Indians throughout the country. "Sir, she is the doctor examining this disease breakout and she has something to tell you" said Stinson. The Governor-General was in no mood to listen to her. "Ah..! Stinson. Please bring her along with us to the Jail. I want to talk to those thieves first. Miss, if you don't mind can you come with us?" the Governor-General asked. Anamika nodded her head and she got into the car along with Stinson. Rajan wanted to stay and help the people in the hospital, for which the Governor-General agreed. This made Stinson even more suspicious. They reach the Central Jail. Stinson didn't want to take a chance. He calls James and asks him to keep an eye on Rajan.
"I wonder why and where they are taking you" said Rahman looking at Sitaram. Sitaram was asked to be summoned by the Governor-General and he was being escorted by the guards to the interrogation room. "I am interested only on the 'Why' part" replied Sitaram. He kept looking at the various prisoners and started thinking about them while going to the Interrogation room. When he reached, his handcuffs we're removed and he was pushed into the room. The room had a table and few people, whose faces looked like they have been waiting for someone. Sitaram wasn't interested in looking their faces. He just panned the room and stopped at one person. He expected to see that face, but he didn't expect he would see it so soon.
Anamika was getting tedious looking at all the inmates and guards. She just wanted to leave the place as soon as possible. She decided to tell Colonel Stinson about it. She was about to approach Stinson to tell, but then backed off as she saw the prisoner who just came in. "Sitaram....What is he doing in Jail?" she thought in her mind. Even though it was a harsh decision to leave, she stayed there after seeing Sitaram. "If only I had met him somewhere else...." she thought.
Governor-General Stanley and Colonel Stinson asked Sitaram Shastri to come closer to the table and stand. Stinson then asked Sitaram to tell why they robbed the train in an aggressive tone. "Stinson. Have patience. Let me handle this. Look Mister..Uh..Shit...ah.. Sitaram. I am asking you politely. Why did you help the Bandits? What are you going to do with the money? Where is it now? I will give you anything you want. It's a one-of-a-kind offer, an offer you can't refuse and it is only applicable to you. Who knows I may even agree for your release, only....only if you answer my questions.." the Governor-General said. Sitaram decided to tell them the truth. But he wanted his condition to be fulfilled before. Even after all the hard times he faced together with Rahman and the hardship they had in Jail, he didn't ask for their release. It was a simple one, for which Governor-General Stanley agreed immediately.
