Chapter 11: Take A Hint

Dawn's POV

We decided to go to the game as well as the dance. When it came to football our team wasnt all that bad. Before the game began the marching band walked around the field. In the lead was the drum major, Erick. His routine was pretty impressive. Skylar kept gushing over how cute he was,while I rolled my eyes. Typical Skylar behavior, checking out guys. I could tell that everytime Sky started talking about Erick, Blade's hand would clench into a fist and his jaw would tighten. If I didnt know any better I wouldve thought Blade like Skylar.

The realization hit me like a punch in the gut, OMG! Blade likes Skylar!! Wht hadnt I seen it earlier. Gosh Im so stupid! Ill talk to Blade later about it.

We were winning by a landslide and our side was cheering thrie heads off. During half time Erick caught Skylar's eye and smiled at her. She smiled back and that encouraged him to make his way over to us.

"Hello," he greeted us.

"Hi," we all said at the same time.

"Skylar,Demetri, how are you?" he asked. Skylar was the one to answer, "We're doing great,thanks for asking." She smiled at him.

"And you Aiden and Dawn," he turned to us.

"We're doing good," Aiden replied. Erick nodded and then looked at Blade. Blade's face showed no emotion whatsoever.

"I don't think we've met before," Erick said while offering a hand to Blade. Blade shook it reluctantly.

"No we havent. I'm Blade Valdez, Dawn's older brother."

"Well its nice to meet you," he said to Blade then turned toward Skylar and me, "You two look stunning."

"Thank you," we said at the same time.

"Well its best I be on my way, I'll see you all later," Erick said and made his way back down to the band, but after taking a few steps he turned to face us once again. "Save me a dance Skylar,"he winked at her and left.

Sky was blushing slightly and grinning like a maniac. Blade was glaring at Erick but when he looked at Skylar his expression changed from one of anger to one of loss. When I saw his face there was no doubt in my mind that Blade liked Skylar. When and how it happened, I have no clue, but there was no denying what I saw on Blade's face. I decided to text him.

Tell her, I texted him.

Blade's phone buzzed. He looked at it and then at me. Read it, I mouthed at him. He did and quickly replied.

What are you talking about?

Skylar. I know you like her. Just tell her, I texted him.

I knew he read the text when he whipped his head in my direction. His expression was pretty hilarious it was surprised,scared,and panicked all in one. I just smirked at him and wiggled my eyebrows at him giving him the, Yeah buddy,caught you! look.

"We'll talk about this later," he said aloud.

"Don't think I'll forget," I said. Aiden,Demetri, and Skylar were looking back and forth between Blade and I. Blade was looking terrified while I was smirking at Blade. He looked so uncomfortable it was actually quite hilarious. I was secretly enjoying this and not because I'm mean, its just Blade is ususally the one to make me squirm and right now I'm the one making him squirm and feel all nervous. This is a rare thing so I'm taking full advantage of it. Okay, so maybe I am a little mean, but come on who wouldn't love to make their older brother uncomfortable, especially when said brother is always teasing you.
