Chapter3: Why Don't You Kiss Her
Dawn's POV
The school day went by quickly. Sky didn't ask anymore what had happened with Audrie, but I'm pretty sure Aiden told her sometime during the day. Luckily we didn't run into Aundre or Audrie anymore, which I was really thankful for. I really didn't like the twins. They made my life a living hell, especially Audrie. I have no clue what she has against me but we've never gotten along. I still remember how she pushed on the sidewalk when I was six. I guess in a way she was the reason Aiden and I became best friends. In a weird and totally crazy was I owe her.
Aiden and I didnt talk much on the way back home. Aiden was really quiet, a rare thing for him, but I wasnt talking much either. I couldnt shake off the feeling that Aiden was going to kiss me earlier after the encounter with Audrie. I could see Aiden looking at me from the corner of his eye when he thought I wasnt looking. Did he want to kiss me?
No, I thought, that's ridiculous. Aiden doesn't think of me that way. I'm just his best friend, I sighed quietly.
"Whats's wrong," Aiden asked me. Well I thought I sighed quietly.
"Nothing," I said looking at him.
" You really expect me to believe that Dawn," he said while looking at me quickly before he looked at the road again.
"Kinda," I said teasingly.
"Well I don't, so tell me what's wrong."
"I'm tired of Thing 1 and Thing 2's stupid games."
"Thing 1 and Thing 2, meaning Aundre and Audrie right," he chuckled at my new nicknames for the twins.
"Yup," I said lightly.
"Cupcake, don't let what those two say or do bring you down. That's what they want." I smiled when he used my nickname. He gave that nickname to me a while back and every time I was upset or he was trying to get me to tell him something he would use that nickname.
"Yeah well you're not hit on by an A-hole 24/7."
"Are you seriously complaining?! You're not hit on by that arrogant A-hole's psychotic sl*tty b*tch of a twin. And you definitely weren't kissed by her!"
That made me laugh and I saw Aiden crack a smile. "Okay, okay point taken. You have it way worse than me, but still if i were you I would wash my mouth with bleach."
"Ohhh, thanks for the idea! Remind me to do that at your house," he played along.
This was one of the many reasons why I started to fall for Aiden. Even when I had the crappiest day every, he can still make me laugh and smile. He always makes me feel loved, and safe, and protected. Cant really blames him for being in love with him.
We finally arrived at Aiden's house. He parked his car in the driveway and we got out of the car and strted walking next door to my house. I saw my brother's car in the driveway. Blade had been the adult figure for over two years now. When our parents passed away, Blade decided not to move, mostly because he didn't want me to be away from my friends, especially Aiden. He knew Aiden would be the only one that could keep me sane after the accident. Blade knew how I felt for Aiden and always gave me advice. Just because knew didn't mean he didn't get overprotective every once in a while. Its a good thing he gets along with Aiden.
I opened the door with my key and we walked into the kitchen where I could hear my brother making dinner.
"Hey Blade," I said while dropping my things on the floor.
