Ch. 20 Half a Heart
Aiden’s POV
Hearing the girl you love more than your life say that she loves another guy is probably one of the worst pains you can feel in your life. I never wanted to hear Dawn say those words to a guy that wasn’t me, but she did and my heart broke into millions of tiny pieces.
Dawn looked at me wide-eyed, but all I could do was look back at her with a look of pain and heart break. I could feel Blade’s eyes on me but I refused to look back at him knowing if I did, I’d most likely start crying like a baby.
“Blade, I’ll call you and help you with that surprise for Sky. I’m sure if she’s not in love with you yet she will be once you give her your gift. I have to go, gotta go take my medication,” I said quickly trying to escape that room.
I turned to leave but Dawn’s sweet, angelic voice stopped me. “What medication Aiden?” she asked softly I almost didn’t hear her.
“Medication I have to take for depression and anxiety,” I replied to her.
“Does it help,” she whispered.
“Sometimes,” I left without a second glance and walked to my house but was stopped before I could enter.
“Aiden! Wait!” I heard footsteps from the person and froze slowly turning around. “What is it Dawn?”
“Do you really have to take medication for depression and anxiety,” she looked at me sadly.
“Don’t Dawn! Don’t give me that look of pity! I’ve had enough of it from my own family I don’t need it from you too!”
“I wasn’t looking at you with pity! Aiden you’re my best friend! I want to help,” she screamed at me.
“No you were my best friend! I could never be your best friend anymore Dawn!”
“Why not?!?!?!”
“Because I’m in love with you! I could never see you in a friendly way anymore because I just want you to be my girl….mine, but your not! You belong to Shane. Just go back to him and I’m sorry and came back to complicate your life. Sky shouldn’t have tried to save me,” I whispered the last part.
“What the fuck?! Why would you say that! You think that would have been better?! Do you have any idea how many people love you Aiden?!” she screamed at me with watery eyes.
