Chapter 8: What I've Been Looking For

Dawn's POV (One week later)

I hadn't talked to Aiden or Skylar for over a week. Sky had tried to talk to me, but I just ignored her. The pain was still to raw. Blade had been driving me to school and at lunch I would sit with Demetri. Demetri had been so caring towards me that I hated myself for not being able to love him back. Aundre still harassed me and he knew something was wrong between Aiden and me, he thought he could do something now that Aiden and I weren't talking, but the joke was on him. Aiden might not be there to defend me but that didn't stop Demetri from doing the job. Gosh i feel like such a shmunck for not being able to love him back.

Aiden would go to my house everyday after school, but Blade would never let him come inside, which I was glad for. Aiden didnt know why I was mad at him and maybe I was being unfair to him. You try not being mad when you see your best friend and the guy you love kiss. Still I might be exaggerating.

"You gonna be okay little sister," Blade asked me when we reached the school parking lot.

"Yeah," I said with a small smile. He nodded and leaned over to kiss my forehead. I walked into school and made my way to my locker. Aiden was not there. I passed by the gym and was about to turn the corner when the gym door opened and someone grabbed me. I started screaming but whoever it was covered my mouth. I started thrashing in that persons arms. They dragged me into the gym and closed the doors.

"Dawn!Calm down its me," Aiden said into my ear. He let me go and I turned around and shoved him.

"Are you crazy?!Why the hell did you do that?!" I yelled at him.

"I'm sorry, but you wont talk to me at all and I want to know why," Aiden responded quietly.

"I just dont want to talk, is that so difficult to understand," I said a little more calmly.

"For a whole week Dawn! What the hell did I do to deserve the silent treatment," his voice was rising in volume.

"If doesn't matter," I said voice rising as well.

"Yes it does Dawn, you're mad at me and I don't know why."

"Aiden just leave me alone please," I turned to walk out but he caught my wrist and pulled me toward him. I tried to free myself but his grip tightened around me.

"Why are you mad," he asked with a hurt voice. I shook my head and I could feel the tears coming.

"Let me go," I said desperately.

"No,tell me."

"No."

"Dawn tell me."

"Let me go."

"Not until you tell me!"

"Aiden!"

"Dawn please just tell me," he yelled at me. I didn't like that he was yelling at me. He was starting to piss me off.

"Dammit Aiden! You want to know why I'm mad! I'm mad because you kissed Skylar!" I yelled at him.

He was shocke and stared at me before he shook his head, "Why the hell would you that het you mad."

Aiden was really annoying me and I was tired of not telling him the truth so before I could stop myself I told him everything.

"My gosh Aiden you're such an idiot! You've been my best friend for a long time! You've always been there for me yet you've never been able to understand the signals I was sending you!"

"What signals?!" he asked frustrated.

"Dammit! I'm in love with you Aiden Lucas Marks and have been for a long time, but you could never tell. I couldn't help falling in love with you and I tried to make you see but you were oblivious."

Aiden just looked at me with his jaw dropped. I was on a roll and I continued ranting at him. There was no way in hell I was gonna let him talk until I was done telling him everything.

"You want to know something else? Demetri and I were never really a couple. We just pretended to be one because Skylar was convinced that you're in love with me. She planned this whole thing. It was her idea for Demetri and me to go out to make you jealous. But it didn't because you kissed Sky!" I finally finished venting and I felt so much better. Aiden kept staring and staring. His stare was making me uncomfortable and I started shifting my weight from foot to foot.

"Dawn," he whispered. There was some emotion in his eyes...happiness? No, my mminds playing tricks on me.

"Just forget I said anything," I whispered and turned to walk away, but he caught my wrist again. He walked in front of e and I looked at my feet.

Aiden lifted my chin with two fingers and made me look at him. He stared at me for a couple of seconds before he leaned down and kissed me softly on my lips. I felt a shock go through me before I started kissing him back. I let out a happy sigh.

I was in heaven.

Aiden's POV

I was in heaven.

Dawn's lips felt soft and warm against mine. i was loving every moment of this kiss and I felt Dawn sigh against my lips.

I pulled back and stared into her eyes. A smile made its way onto her lips and I smiled in return.

"I missed your smile. You deprived me of it for a week," I teased her quietly.

"Sorry," she said softly and blushed.

I chuckled and then captured her face between my hands. This time instead if just a peck, I kissed her longer and deeper and she kissed me back. I took a step back and she tilted her head to the side while she looked at me.

She looks like an angel, so beautiful, I thought.

Okay lover boy don't go all lovey dovey on me, my concious teased.

Shut up, I'm happy!

"Come on lets go," I told Dawn and offered her my hand.

"Where," she asked curiously as she placed her hand in mine. I intertwined our fingers and walked out the door.

"Aiden," she said, "where are we going?"

"You'll see," I smiled at her.

"We'll get in trouble if we get caught," she said.

"Come on live a little," I nudged her with my elbow. She hesitated but then nodded. We got into my car and drove off. We were quiet the whole ride, but it was a comfortable silence.

I couldn't believe everything Dawn had told me. So Skylar had planned this whole thing out. No wonder she thought Dawn would get mad. Freaking Skylar knew this whole time Dawn was in love with me and she didn't say anything! Well I guess its better that she didn't tell me, I like it better that Dawn was the one who told me.

Dawn. She's in love with me just like Imin love with her. She said she had been in love with me for a while. How could I not have noticed?! Gosh Im blind?! And I cant believe it took Dawn pretending to go out with Demetri to make me see I lover her too.

After driving for half an hour, we arrived to our destination, the beach. Dawn's eyes lit up when she saw where I had taken her. We got out of the car and walked hand-in-hand to the shoreline.

"Why did you bring me here?" she asked.

"Because we have a lot to talk about," I replied. We sat down on the sand.

Let the confessions begin, my conscious said.
