Chapter 12: Best Friend's Brother

Skylar's POV

Demetri dragged me to the gym where the dance was going to be held. Our gym was actually pretty big and the decorations were amazing. Demetri pulled me to the dance floor and we started dancing like crazy. I noticed Aiden, Dawn, and Blade hadn't come yet and I was about to tell Demetri when Erick suddenly appeared.

"Mind if I cut in," he asked while smiling at me. I smiled back at him.

"Not at all, I'm gonna go look for Aiden, Blade, and Dawn. Be right back," Demetri said then disappeared.

Erick took Demetri's place and we started dancing. I saw Blade enter and his eyes quickly landed on me. They flicked to Erick and he began to glare. Id be lying if I said that I hadn't noticed Blade was beyond jealous and Id also be lying if Id said that I didn't like him maybe love him. When I started liking him well...

*Flashback*

I was at Dawn's house...again. Trying to explain what happened with Aiden...again. Blade answered the door...again. And he was telling me Dawn didn't want to see me or talk to me...you guessed it, again.

This was the 6th time in the past four days I tried to talk to Dawn, but she didn't want to talk at all. It killed me that I was the reason she was so depressed. She wouldn't even talk to Aiden, just Demetri and that was really hurting Aiden. I missed my best friend so much I just wanted her back.

"Sorry Skylar," Blade said, I already knew what he was going to say," she really doesn't want to talk."

I sighed. Even though Ive heard the exact same thing many times already, the pain I felt in my chest didn't lessen one but. I felt the tears in my eyes. I was now starting to realize I might have lost my best friend forever and that realization had the tears running down my face.

"Its okay Blade," I said my voice cracking," I knew it was a long shot."

I turned to leave but Blade caught my wrist. I felt an electric shock at the contact and I know he did too because I heard his breath hitch. My heart beat started to quicken and I didn't know why.

"Skylar wait," Blade said, he still hadn't let go of my wrist.

"What Blade?" I asked. The tears were still streaming down my face.  Blade lifted his free hand and wiped the tears from my face.

"Take a walk with me please," he whispered.

I looked at him and stared at his chocolate brown eyes. I feel like I could stare into them forever. Whoa there big girl what are you saying!

"Please Skylar," he said again taking a step closer to me.

"Okay," I agreed. He gave me a small and released my wrist. He went to the kitchen and came back after a few seconds.

"Just leaving a note for Dawn," he explained. I nodded. We headed out the door. We started walking in the direction of the park. The sun was starting to set and it was starting to get a little chilly, thank god I had my jacket.

"Are you okay Sky," Blade asked softly.

"No," I sighed,"Dawn doesn't want to talk to me anymore, I'm losing my best friend and all I want to do is explain what happened with Aiden."

"He kissed you didn't he" Blade stated.

"yeah but it wasn't supposed to happen," I sighed. Blade looked at me confusedly so I explained. "Aiden confessed to me that hes in love with him to. The only thing we were going to do was hang a lot more, that's it. Aiden doesn't know that Dawns in love with him so he didn't realize that if Dawn saw him kissing me she would be heart broken too."
