Alistiar's POV
I gasped awake when suddenly a pair of cold, clawed feet landed on my head. I shot up on the couch into a sitting position, looking around for the culprit. I first spotted Selah on the other side of the couch with a small vile of blood in her hands. I turned my head the other way and watched Sorens tail disappear through a doorway.
"Thank for the nice wake up." I sighed sarcastically. I stood up and stretched my limbs. Selahs couch wasn't the most comfortable thing to sleep on.
"You're welcome!" Selah said, rushing into her lab. "There's some food in the kitchen for you."
I shuffled into the kitchen and sat at the small table, pulling my multi-colored food towards me. I ate the blue eggs slowly before going back to the sitting room to get some clothes. I slipped on a hoodie and jeans then walked into Selahs lab to see what she was doing. As soon as I walked in, I regretted it. Selah was leaning over a table, cutting into what I assumed was dragon. I turned around, ready to leave.
"I need you to get some things for me." Selah said, looking up and pointing to a folded piece of paper. I picked it up and unfolded it. It contained a couple lines of words and a few messy drawings of plants.
"What's all this?" I asked, folding the paper again.
"Some groceries and a few things for my expiraments." Selah said, starting a rhythmic tapping sound with her foot. "You're going to need a bag... don't crush anything!" Selah added before I walked away.
I emptied out one of the dufflebags by the door and pulled on my converse. Fane and Soren were by my side immedialty when I walked outside. I pulled my hoodie closer when the cold air hit my body. I petted under Fanes chin and let them both sit down on my shoulders. I opened up the paper again and read the first line.
Oranges
I sighed and walked into the forest, looking for the bright purple that would show up in the trees. It was easy enough to find.
Gray Weeds
Next to the words was messy drawing of some weird plants. I remembered seeing those near the pond so I took off towards it. Grabbed a bundle of weeds, I checked the list again.
Fish
How did Selah expect me to get fish? I looked over at Soren and smiled.
"You wanna get me some fish buddy?" I asked, petting his head. Soren nodded and dove into the water. In minutes, Soren had five fish for me. I slid them into the bag and whipped my hands on my pants. Gross.
Black Lemons
Next to the words was a picture of a tree with lemons on it. Pretty explanatory. I made my way back to the forest, basically wandering around until I found one. Suddenly Fane leaped off my shoulder. Soren took off right after them. I stood confused for a moment before running after them.
I struggled to keep up with them for a couple minutes before tripping over a log and falling. I stood up, brushing off my hoodie before looking around. I had no idea where they had gone. I walked forward then heard a roar. I ran to it but paused when I reached them.
Laying on the ground was an unconscious guy...but not a normal one. He had yellow scales on multiple parts of his body, a yellow dragon tail and yellow dragon wings. I had never seen anything like him before. I rushed forward when I noticed the bloody wounds scattered across his body.
I flipped the dragon boy over and watched as blood began to pool around him. I bit my lip as a flashback of the crash hit me. I shut my eyes and shook my head, forcing the memories from my mind.
"Soren grow bigger. We need to get him to Selah." I said desperately. I grabbed under the boys arms and pulled him to a now medium sized Soren. I set the boy on Sorens back and got on myself. "Lets go." I said, urgency in my tone. Soren took off carefully but going as fast as he could while still being gentle. It took maybe 10 minutes to get to Selahs but in my mind it felt like hours. I slid off Sorens back and opened to door for him to carry the boy in.
"Selah! We have a situation!" I yelled. Selah walked out moments later with her eyes on a paper.
"Wha- oh my god. Is he alive?" Selah questioned running around the couch.
"I think so but he's bleeding a lot." I said, wide eyed and honestly scared.
"Help me get him on the couch." At her words, I threw the blankets off the couch and grabbed the boys legs. Selah grabbed under his arms and together we heaved him onto the couch. Selah ran into her lab and came back out with an arm full of stuff. She dropped the medical supplies on the floor and we both got to work. We stitched up the bigger wounds first then got to cleaning the smaller ones. By the end of it, the boy was covered in bandages.
"Ow!" Selah yelled as she pulled her hand away from the boys scale covered stomach. She lifted it up to her face and we both watched as a bead of blood dripped down her finger. I looked back at the creature on the couch as she put a bandaid on it.
"What is he?" I asked very unsure, staring at his pointed ears.
"I'm not 100% sure but the only thing he could be is some sort of dragon elf hybrid. I don't even know how that's possible." Selah said, sitting down against the wall. I could see the cogs turning in her brain and the sparks in her eyes when she realized what was laying on her couch. I was thankful that she didn't burst out though. She understood it wasn't the right time. I sat next to her on the floor and waited. It may be while before he wakes up but there's no way I can do anything else now.
