Alistair's POV
My bright green eyes met the harsh blue orbs of the Elf King. His eyes widened in surprise but a sinister smile soon took over is features. He shut the door behind himself and I heard the doors lock be put in place.
"Well this is a surprise. Care to tell me how you escaped the cells?" The king questions, snaking his way towards me. I began backing up, a fearful expression marking my face.
"Not much of a talker are you." The king commented, a fake yawn escaping his mouth.
"I want to talk." I said, ignoring the way he was acting.
"About?" The King questioned, looking at his nails as if they were the most important thing in the world right now.
"A solution. To all of this. I can help bring peace between you and the dragons. I can help save the lives of both species but I can't do it without your help." I pleaded, hoping he'd actually consider what I was saying.
"Do you actually believe I want a solution? That's almost humorous." The king said, letting out a dry laugh. My hope was quickly depleted.
"Then just want to get my amulet and leave." I said, gulping.
"I wouldn't consider it yours anymore." The elf king said, pulling the amulet from his pocket. "Do you even have any idea what this thing can do?" The king remarked, a crazed tone lingering in his voice.
"No I guess I don't." I said, truthfully.
"Sadly you will never find out." The king said, comepteling the statement with fake sadness. Before I could ask what he meant, he charged at me with a shiny silver knife. I threw myself to the side, gasping out in shock.
"Stay still!" The Elf King yelled, running at me again. I jumped up and dodged out of the way of the knife again.
"The amulet is rightfully mine!" I shouted at him, hoping to distract him.
"Lies!" He fumed, stabbing at me again. I jumped out of the way and clumsily pushed him down. He stumbled and the knife slipped from his grip. An inhuman growl passed through his lips as his eyes snapped up to look at me. I stepped backwards and screamed when the king lundged. His body collieded into mine, knocking us both to the ground. The kings skinny fingers wrapped around my neck, squeezing hard.
"I'm going to kill you." The king hissed into my face. My arms flailed around me, unable to find anything to grab onto. Suddenly, the king was thrown against the wall next to the door. A growling Varon stood tall next to me, a fury swirling in his dark eyes.
"I should have known you'd have dragons with you." The Elf King chuckled, standing up while holding his side. Soren came flying at him from his side but the Elf King must have seen him coming. The elf kings strong hand wrapped around Sorens neck. Sorens claws scrapped against the Elf Kings pale flesh, leaving bloody marks but he didn't even seem to notice.
Another knife was pulled out of his sleeve and shoved right into Sorens side. A scream bubbled from my throat.
"No!" Red surrounded my vision as I sprinted forward. I grabbed the knife off the ground and plunged it deep into the Elf Kings shoulder, right above his heart. A bloodfilled gurgle came from his throat as his eyes shifted over to my form. His hand released Soren, dropping him to the floor. His hands gripped my shoulders weakly. I yanked the knife harshly out of his side and took pleasure in the yell that came from him.
"This is what you deserve." I gritted through my teeth and stabbed the short, bloody knife into his skull. His body went limp immediately and I let it fall to the ground ungracefully. My bloodlust subsided and the reality of my actions dawned on me.
I had just killed the King.
The King of this entire land.
I had killed yet another person.
I was forced from my panicked state by the sounds of shouts outside of the kings bedroom door. The door the dead king was slumped against. My breathing increased as I got to my feet, feeling the full effects of the beating from earlier and the fight between the King. I hobbled over to my hurt dragon, carefully picking him up. I felt his pulse, jumping out of my skin as something slammed against the door. I clutched Soren close to my chest as a snatched the knife from the kings head. Varon flew next to me, helping me back to the library door.
Just as I pulled the door open, the door leading into the bedroom was forced open. I connect eyes with a another elf, deep blue eyes followed me as I shut the door behind myself quickly. I raced to the other side of the library, using my muscle memory to find my way threw. As I exited through the other door in the library, I heard the far door open.
I wasted no time in running down the hall. I halted briefly when I saw multiple people surrounding a door a way down to hallway. I guessed it was the Kings room. I kept running, finding my way into the throne room. From there it wasn't hard to find the exiting gates of the castle. Thankfully I had passed by no one, every elf in the castle must be at the kings room.
The bright sun caused me to shield my eyes when I opened the front doors of the castle. Varon grew bigger next to me, signalling for me to jump on his back. I pulled myself onto his back, clutching Soren incredibly closer while holding onto Varon with my other hand. We took off into the air as footsteps sounded behind us. I didn't look back, I didnt want to.
As we passed over the castle high dark stone walls, a horn flooded into the air. A piercing sound that came at me from multiple angles. I ignored it and hoped that Soren could make it to Selahs.

For anyone who might be wondering, Alistairs dogs, Comet and Domino, are perfectly okay back at Alistairs house on Earth. Plenty of food there for the dogs and the Dragons, Emerald knows what she's doing and taking care of them.
