annie's pov
-
"what? what do you mean he's gone?" johnny asked. i bit my lower lip and clenched my shirt. "i looked for him everywhere. i even called his cell and it went straight to voicemail. ugh it's all my fault!" i say on the verge of crying.hayden left and it's all my fault. i broke his trust of love. i was the only person he talked to after his fathers death and i broke him. again. what the heck annie!
"i'm going to jerry's. you guys keep up the coffee shop. i'll call you if anything happens." i say. they all nod. "stay safe anns." lauren sniffed.
i rushed out of the coffee store and into the cold, busy streets of new york city. i call over a cab (i've been practicing). i give the driver the directions. "can you hurry please?"
...
i was standing right outside of jerry's house. it's now or never. my shaking, cold hands press the doorbell. a few seconds open, revealing jerry. i could read his facial expression and just tell that he was concerned about something.
"annie dear. come in, it's cold out there." he said opening the door wider. i take off my boots and walk in. his house was a perfect representation of a modern wooden cabin.
he had a large window wall overlooking a forest -i'm assuming it's the quite area of nyc- the ceiling had exposed beams and a chandelier. the fireplace was crackling, making the whole area seem quite.
i sat down on a chair which i'm assuming was made out of bear fur. "would you like anything to drink dear?" he asked. i shook my head. "no thank you. but, i'm here to ask you about something." i said bitting my lower lip.
i've got to get out of that habit.
"yes?" he asked. my heart starts racing and pounding against my rib cage. almost as if were to explode. i felt like crying at this very moment. "it- it's about hayden." i mumble.
jerry has a small grin appear on his old, weary face. "hayden! come down please!" he yelled. rushing down the stairs, came hayden. he was in perfect condition.
i stand up and rush to him. i wrap my arms around his neck and hug him tight. "hayden summerall! you scared the crap out of me! i thought you died!" i say pulling back.
his face remained motionless. "hayden?" i say again. "i thought you didn't like me." he said pushing me off him a bit.
what the actual fuck?
"um, i'll be at the market... getting stuff for dinner." jerry said walking out of the door, fast as his feet could carry him. "what the heck hayden! of course i like you! you drove me crazy looking for you!" i said walking behind him.
he turned around. "julianna, you broke my trust. you hurt me so, so bad. when you entered my life i thought you would've been different, someone who understands me and wouldn't break my love. but you did annie." hayden said about to walk away again.
i gripped his wrist. "hayden i love you okay! i really do! i just couldn't say it at the moment because i was confused and stuck! i'm sorry. please forgive me." i say.
he turns around and just looks at me. he takes both of my hands into his: lacing our fingers. "i more then love you annie." he said resting his forehead on mine.
"will you be mine?" he whispered. "what do you think, idiot." i said before kissing him. he immediately kissed back. i pulled away. "i'm assuming yes, but i'm not sure. let me check again." he smirked before kissing me again.
this is what love feels like.
