annie's pov
-
i can't believe how well lunch went. i'm also super excited for hayden's 'hangout' tomorrow. it's the first time he's ever talked to anyone; so, he talks to me!

i'm currently slacking the ties on my shoelaces. i fully untie them and chuck them to the side of my room.

i hear a faint knock on my door. "come in!" i say. hayden peeps his head out. "um, change of plans. meet me at this address at 10:00 pm. sharp. don't be late." hayden throws a piece of paper and shuts the door, sending a gush of wind hitting my face.

i feel confused but bend down a pick up the crumbled paper. this should be interesting.
...
it was 9:26 pm and i decided to get ready. i had no idea what to wear; so, i just went with the casual. i put on ripped jeans and a black crop top. i tie caleb's army jacket around my waist.

i straighten my hair and put on light makeup. i put on combat boots and grabbed my phone. hopefully this look is good. i walk out of my bedroom and downstairs.

since jerry -almost- taught me to call over taxis, this time i actually got one! kind of like fishing. wait, no. nothing like fishing.

"where to?" the driver asked. i handed him the slip of paper. his eyes went wide when he saw the address. "something wrong?" i asked uncomfortably buckling my seatbelt.

"oh, um nothing ma'am. it's just... no one ever asked me to go here in a very long time." the driver said as he stared driving. i clenched my hands. now, i'm really scared.
...
he pulled up to the area. it had graffiti everywhere, cigarettes on the floor and horrible alley ways. that brought me bad memories. i paid the driver and got out.

the wind was frosty tonight. it bit my skin, giving me horrifying goosebumps. i saw a door on a brick building. i walk up to the worn out door and knock on it.

my grip on my phone tightens. a man opens it. looking at me confused. "can i help you?" he asks annoyed. "um yeah. my friend invited me here." i tried to sound confident.

"yeah buttercup. i think you got the wrong address." he said. he was about to close the door before someone shouted "wait! she's with me." the person walked to the door. it was hayden.

he had on fake glasses with his hair curly. he had on a cream hoodie with black jeans ripped at the knees. he actually looked cute. "come on annie." he said.

the man let me through. i walk in a see guys either older then hayden or the same age. they were all gathered around pool tables. there were three.

but something also caught my eye. there was a little boy. probably four years old. he looked scared. he was sitting on a old ruined chair. he looked at me and looked down.

i followed hayden. someone tossed hayden a pool stick and he began playing pool. "um, what am i doing here?" i asked hayden super uncomfortable.

the guys were looking at me 'sexually' "chill annie. let me finish up this pool game." he said potting the 4 ball.

i sigh and put on the jacket that was once was tied around my waist. i sit down next to the little boy. "hi. what's your name?" i asked in a soft sweet voice facing him.

he looked up at me i'm fear. "don't worry, i'm not gonna hurt you." i said with a soft smile. he was still pretty shaken up. "b-blake." he stuttered. "hi blake. i'm annie." i smiled.

he didn't smile but looked down. "don't talk to him baby girl." a guy said. "um, don't call me that." i said. "why? what's wrong baby?" the guy said walking closer to me.

"dude, stop." hayden said blocking him. "don't even start with me summerall." the man growled. "you know what i can do. your dad left me in charge after her mom killed your dad." the man said pointing at me.

what?

my mom killed hayden's dad? is that why he doesn't like me? is that why he brought me here? "and you know exactly why we brought her here." the man said once again.

i looked up at hayden. "hayden?" i asked with water in my eyes. "annie i- it's not like that. i brought you here because they told me." hayden sighed.

"and now, were not letting either one of you leave." another guy said, blocking the exit way. "shit." i heard hayden mumbled under his breath.

i got really scared so i hid behind hayden. i looked back at blake who was on the verge of crying.

i felt someone clinch my wrist and pull me. it hurt really bad so i let out a small scream. "let her go. she did nothing wrong." hayden said. "nope." the man smirked.

he pushed hayden harshly against the wall. i wanted to scream and run out of here. i wanted to go back to california.

okay, that's enough. i kicked the man where the sun don't shine and got infront of the man who was bashing hayden. he punched me instead of hayden, giving me a bad bruise on my arm.

"annie!" hayden exclaimed. we heard police sirens coming this was. "come on men!" one man shouted. they all ran out of the worn out building.

hayden had me in his arms. even though hayden was more injured then me, he held me tight to him. "i'm so sorry annie. this is all my fault." hayden said into my shoulder.
