Luke’s POV

About an hour before the concert in Sydney started, Ashton, Calum and I sat in my dressing room talking and relaxing. We had no clue where Michael was but we figured he’d come around sooner or later.

Whenever we had a show, being in a dressing room actually calmed me down. I could just come in here and think about the concert even though you could hear the crowd of thousands of people screaming in the dressing rooms. But for some reason, my nerves were going crazy and my heart was pumping full of adrenaline. They’ve been like this ever since last week and I honestly have no clue why.

“Mate, why are you so worked up?” Ashton asked me, clearly noticing how I’ve been acting recently.

“I have no clue. My nerves have been like this for the past week, but I think it may have something to do with the show tonight. Maybe because we’re playing at home, or because we have family watching?” I guessed.

“We’ve played here like four times already,” Ashton pointed out.

“Could it have anything to do with your dream from last night?” Calum questioned me. Ever since my first dream encounter with the brown haired girl, she’s been showing up in my dreams a few times every week. She mostly helps me through the problems with publicity and rumors going around.

She had showed up in my dream last night too.

~Flashback~

“Hi Luke!” the girl greeted me.

“Hi, love,” I told her with a smile. “This is going to sounds crazy because you probably have no idea, but can I ask you something?”

“I think I know what this is about, but go ahead,” She laughed.

“Do you have any idea why my nerves have been all over the place this week?” I questioned. Even though she probably won’t tell me if she knows, it can’t hurt to try, right?

“I do know actually, but I can’t tell you. All I can say is to be yourself when the time comes, and you’ll be fine,” She told me with a wink.

“Wait, why would I need to be myself?” I asked her.

“You’ll see tomorrow,” She told me before disappearing, leaving me to my own thoughts.

~End Dream~

I need to find this girl. It’s driving me insane knowing her, but then again not knowing her. Hell, I don’t even know if she exists.

“I doubt it, but it’s possible I guess,” I told Calum and Ashton. “I don’t even know what her name is, if she has one, let alone if she even is a real person”. I decided not to tell them about what she told me about ‘being yourself’.

“Maybe she is real, but you just have to find her somehow,” Ashton guessed with a smile as he stood up to grab a water bottle.  That could always be true, but I don’t want to get my hopes up. If she isn’t real, then I would feel like this whole situation would be a lie. The door opened and Michael popped his head in.

“Mates, we’re on in thirty,” Michael told us as he walked into the dressing room, clearly excited for the show. We spent the first fifteen minutes talking and laughing, and the last fifteen minutes doing vocal warm-ups.

Ashton’s comment kept me thinking about this girl. I still couldn’t get her off my mind. It was like my nerves weren’t stopping me from letting the idea go for even one minute. Was she there for a particular reason or just because? Or was she someone that my imagination made up to help me? Either way, I had to find out why.
