Looking up at the oh-so-familiar airport as we drove up to the car drop off, I remembered all of the moves we've had to go through, times of lugging around the most we can carry, but knowing that it wasn't even a third of what we really had. As the truck stopped, I got out and grabbed my luggage from the bed in the back as Dad headed up to the ticket table to pick up our tickets and handed one to each of us.
We headed inside to get through security, which ended up being a pain in the ass as usual. After getting through the removing of shoes, and emptying everything from our pockets, we put everything back on and headed off to our gate. I remembered how much I hate airports because of all the moves we've done. I despised everything from the uncomfortable seats on the plane, to the terrible food
I could feel my emotions run just like the tears down my face as we traveled through the airport, causing old memories to become fresh in my mind. Holidays, friends, and even just simple nights of sitting on the back porch and looking at the stars popped up in my mind.
Just as we got to our gate, the tall, broad man in front called the passengers to board the plane. Most people would be boarding for an adventurous vacation, but my family would be boarding to start a new life for the fifth time. We boarded the plane before everyone else and waited for everybody to get on and load their carry-ons into the compartments above the seats. As the plane slowly began its ascent, I put my music on and headphones in and slowly drifted off to sleep.
~In the Dream~
I woke to see myself on a large couch in the middle of a grassy field on what seemed like a warm, spring day. I looked around to bear my surroundings and saw a boy, about my age if I were to guess, laying on the couch across from me. He looked over and saw I had woken up.
"Hi," the boy said to me.
"Where am I?" I asked him. He had piercing blue eyes and perfectly quiffed hair. He had a lip ring, which was really attractive. He was very tall, about 6 foot maybe, wearing black skinny jeans and a tight, dark grey shirt with "Nirvana" written in bold yellow lettering on the front, showing off his perfectly toned muscles. A pair of black Vans were tied to his feet, and had a lip ring on the lower left side of his bottom lip.
"You're in a dream, love," he told me with his dazzling smile.
'Damn, this boy is cute', I thought to myself.
"You don't know who I am, but you will later. I'm here to help you through the move and afterwards. It'll seem hard, but Australia's not as bad as you think," the boy reassured me.
"O-Oh okay," I stuttered. I noticed he had a thick Australian accent. "Are you from there?" I asked curiously.
"I can't tell you that yet," he said with a wink, bringing a smile to my face.
"What about your name?" I decided to try another question.
"You'll find out soon enough," He said smiling. "Unfortunately, I have to leave. Sorry it's so soon, but you will see me again. Bye love," he said with a wave. And just like that, he disappeared.
I woke from my dream to see my mom giving me an odd look.
"Are you okay? You were mumbling and smiling in your sleep," she informed me.
"Huh?" I asked. "Oh, yeah sorry just a funny dream, that's all," I said, still stlightly flustered.
"Alright then," she said with a goofy, questioning smile on her face, leaving me to wonder who this boy was and why he was there in the first place.
