*Matthias_H & Waffle_Queen Chat*
Waffle_Queen: Matthias, say something!
Matthias_H: Me?! Why?
Waffle_Queen: Because they all look as though they're about to throttle each other
Matthias_H: And what makes you think I could fix that?
Waffle_Queen: Nothing. It's just that for the life of me, I can't think of what to say right now
Matthias_H: Well, that's a first
Waffle_Queen: Matthias
Matthias_H: Fine fine! For the love Djel...!
Waffle_Queen: thank you :)

The big Fjerdan stuffed his phone into his pocket grudgingly as he exchanged a glance with his lover beside him. She nodded encouragingly, her lime green eyes urging his attention to shift to the four other diners sitting around the table.
Matthias heaved in a deep breath, cleared his throat and folded his massive hands atop the table, addressing the others, "So how are you finding the food so far?"
The sulky ginger on Matthias's left, stabbed the half eaten fish fillet in front of him with his fork. "Better than the food back at the Slat," he muttered.
The raven haired boy sat directly across from Matthias scoffed, his sharp features pinching with bitterness. "You should be glad anyone in the Barrel bothers to feed you at all."
"He didn't mean it, Kaz," said the impossibly tall, dark skinned male who sat between the two of them.
"Of course he did," Kaz spat, "I'm sure his pampered ass would rather starve than have to eat anything that isn't caviar."
A petite girl seated to the left of Kaz, spoke up. "Let it go," she nearly snapped, her sly brown eyes flashing with brutal finality, "Besides he's just speaking honestly, the food is better."
"You two are so conveniently close lately, aren't you?" Kaz said, sizing up the ginger who had by this time shrunk into his jacket.
"I'll say," the ebony boy interjected. The edge in his voice was unmistakable as he eyed the slight girl suspiciously.
"Jesper, Kaz," the plump, green eyed girl beside Matthias finally spoke, "it's this little thing people outside the Barrel like to call friendship. You should try it some time."
The ginger snorted, "Oh, they've tried it all right."
"What? So I can't have friends now? Really, Wylan?" Jesper blustered, turning his body to face the paler boy full on.
Wylan's face flushed bright red as he gritted his teeth and curled further into himself. "You know what I mean–"
"Oh, don't waste your breath," Kaz hissed.
