Tiffany groaned softly as the morning light came in through the glass sliding door, spilling over her face and waking her. It was quite bright that when she opened her eyes slightly, it stung and made them water. She put an arm over her eyes to protect them and sighed. She knew that it was a new day and she needed to get up and ready for work. She looked at the time and noticed it was almost 8 in the morning. She took her time to sit up in bed, her legs dangling over the side. She wasn't much of a morning person and possibly never would be one. In the morning she could be one hell of a grouchy person if she didn't have a cup of coffee. She thought about what had happened yesterday, still a bit in denial. Did her life really just got dumped into a hell hole? Well so far it was a pleasant place. Frowning, she thought about Melody. Saving Melody was her top priority. Tiffany dragged herself up and out of bed, crossing the room to the wardrobe groggily. She hesitated as she opened it. What would she find inside? What clothing did he expect her to wear? She opened it up and saw mostly just dresses with a few pants and shirts. She frowned as she eyed his choice of clothing. They were beautiful, but not her style. She decided to pick a plain white dress that would suit her more at work. She had heard she needed to wear white at the Veterinary Hospital she was planning to work at. She slid into the dress and straightened it out before looking in the mirror to check herself out. She then fixed her long golden red hair into a ponytail and smiled at her success. She was proud of herself. She got the job she wanted and now she could help animals more easily. She was happy at last even though she would still volunteer down at the shelter when she could. Tiffany headed out into the hallway and came to an immediate stop. Darius was out there waiting for her, wearing a suit that looked quite well on him. His hair was neat and fixed as well, making him look like the wealthy man he really was. He cleared his throat and crossed the distance to her.
"You look good." He seemed to struggle with his words.
"Really?" She asked.
He nodded and crossed his arms over his strong chest. There seemed to be something different about him, strange. He looked away and cleared his throat once more. Was something wrong?
"Tonight, I will not be home...I have matters to...attend to." He told her, choosing his words with caution.
She blinked up at him with confusion, not sure what was going on. She rubbed her arm and looked away from him as well. She really couldn't find the words to say. She knew it wasn’t any of her busy what he did, but she couldn’t help to ask. "Ok, how long?"
"I will be back in the morning." He didn't hesitate to answer.
Morning? Well that wasn't that long. In her gut, she could feel that he was hiding something from her, but what? She glanced down at her watch and saw that it was time for her to get going.
"I need to go, you too, right?" She asked to be sure.
"Yes, I should have been there earlier, but I decided to accompany you instead." He said with a grin.
She smiled, "Ok, let's get going then."
They headed out the door quickly. He offered her a ride and she gladly accepted it. He drove them directly to the Hospital and dropped her off first.
