Tiffany swallowed hard while she gripped the blankets tightly. Ruth stood there in the room, her back to the closed door. She had an angry look on her face that said she wanted answers. Even Tiffany wanted answers because truthfully, she didn't know what was going on. She didn't know why all of a sudden she felt another being within her or why she had gained certain abilities. She was just as confused at Ruth was.

"I honestly don't know. I want to know too. I am just as confused about this as you are." Tiffany sighed, annoyance etched into her voice. “Anyways, if I really had a wolf in me, I would have known about it.”

"You're lying." Ruth said in a low voice, almost a whisper.

"I'm not. You don't understand how confused I am right now." Tiffany nearly screamed.

"Whatever. I didn't trust you from the beginning. Just wait until Darius finds out." She growled.

No, he couldn't find out, especially when she didn’t know herself. Tiffany shot out of the bed and pounced Ruth, tackling her to the ground before she could escape. Ruth fought back and then looked into Tiffany's eyes and gasped. She stopped immediately, fear replacing her anger. Ruth's eyes widened with shock. She shrunk away from Tiffany and showed her throat to Tiffany. Tiffany backed away, unsure why Ruth was suddenly so afraid of her. She had seemed so high and mighty and now she was reduced to nothing. She shivered there on the floor and scrambled up for the door. She exited the room in a hurry, leaving Tiffany all alone. Tiffany frowned and looked at herself in the mirror. What had scared her so much? Tiffany’s breath caught in her throat at the sight of her newly glowing eyes, silver eyes. How was it possible, what was happening to her? She backed away from the mirror and tripped over the rug, falling on her bottom. She dragged her knees up to her chest and curled into a ball on the floor, not daring to look back into the mirror. She didn't want this. It scared her to death. She wanted her old life back.

Darius was heading down the hallway to the room Tiffany was in. He frowned as soon as he saw Ruth exiting the room in such a hurry. There was fear in her eyes, so much fear. Darius frown deepened as soon as she noticed him.

"D-Darius!" She cried out.

Ruth came to a complete stop, freezing in place while trimmers ran through her body. What the hell had freaked her out this much? She was a tough girl who rarely ever got scared. He didn't understand what could make her like this.

"Ruth, what's wrong?" He asked suddenly.

She came up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing up close to him. She cried against his chest.

"Ruth?" He was surprised by her actions.

She lifted her head and looked into his eyes. Now there was something other than fear in her eyes. Something he couldn’t accept.

"Ruth, no. I have told you countless times we are never to be. Why won't you understand that?" He sighed, trying to push her away.
