Tiffany sat as still as she could within the car, shaking visibly. The wolf stood right outside her car door. Well technically it was Darius's car, but oh well. She had gotten here only after Darius arrived, but couldn't seem to find him anywhere, he had disappeared and now a wolf was wondering around his car. The same wolf she had seen a few days ago, before Melody was taken away from her. The wolf cocked its head to the side as it sat there outside the driver's seat door studying her. It just stared at her. She didn't feel anything negative from it, she could tell it didn't mean any harm. Before she knew it, the wolf turned on its heel and sprinted off into the distance into the park. She exhaled the breath she was holding and relaxed a bit. She needed to get out of there, what if it returned? She couldn't risk it. She put the car into reverse and backed away before putting it back into drive and heading out onto the main road. She was a nervous wreck. She didn't know what to do or think. Where was Darius? When she had gotten there, he wasn't there, at all. She tried to push down the emotions that were overwhelming her, but had no luck. She had so much on her plate right now that she just wanted to crawl into a hole and stay there. She finally made it home and went to find Francis.
"Francis?!!!" She shouted out, searching for him in the living room.
He came out of the kitchen, an apron on and a pair of oven mittens over his hands with a look of question upon his face.
"Dear, what's wrong miss?" He asked with a worried expression.
"Darius, I tried following him, but once I got to where his car was parked, no one was there. There was also a large black wolf." She panicked.
Actually, now that Tiffany thought back on it, the wolf's fur had a blue tint to it whenever the moonlight had hit it coat of fur. It was actually quite beautiful, yet scared her to death.
"Now miss, he should be ok. Don't worry too much." He assured her. "Now, I have some cookies baking in the oven, would you like some?"
Tiffany couldn't believe it, he didn't seemed worried at all, not one bit. She blinked at him with her mouth wide open in shock. Darius could have been killed by that wolf for all she knew and he didn't seem worried at all! She began to pace the living room, thinking of what to do. Francis sighed and told her yet again, "Don't worry too much."
How could she not worry? Darius could be dead now and they should be calling the police to have a search party go out and find him. Francis went back into the kitchen and took out the tray of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. She inhaled the sweet delicious scent. Her mouth watered instantly, wanting a bite of one of those cookies. For a moment, she calmed. Francis came back into the living room with a plate of cookies and set it on the coffee table.
"Here, have one. Trust me, they are good!" He smiled warmly. "Here's a glass of milk too."
He put down a large glass of milk beside the cookies and told her to dig in. She wasn't much on eating things like this since she really didn't want to risk a few pounds, but hell, she was feeling so overwhelmed. She felt like she deserved to eat them in peace. She finished the whole plate of 8 cookies and downed the whole glass of milk. She let out a sigh, feeling contented as she patted her belly. Suddenly, Tiffany was feeling drowsy and her mind foggy. Francis came into the room once more to clean up and told her that she should go on to bed. She agreed and did exactly just that, went to bed. She laid in her bed with her eyes barely open. Finally, she drifted off to sleep and that's when the nightmare began.
