My Facade

Fuck

life-

I'm so done-

I have nothing, nobody, everything has been stolen from me.

Ripped from my frail bony hands.

Like the grim reaper-

I vanish all light from the room.

When I walk in everyone and everything becomes quiet-

Almost as if I'm underwater-

I hear nothing.

They whisper and-

muffle what they wish to say to my face.

But courage is something no one has.

So I ignore their stares-

Their jeering eyes trying to break into my castle.

Crumble my walls and catch a glimpse.

A glimpse at what you ask? Well-

They want to see how broken I truly am.

I'm an angel-

Without her wings...

Clipped-

and

stolen from me.

I am a flightless-

Bird...

Without-

my wings I'm nothing...

An empty shell of a girl that used to smile, laugh, believe- hope-

But not anymore! Now I believe in nothing...

All I hope for is the days to end and for everything to fade away.

I laugh to deceive everyone to hide the true pain I feel.

It's suffocating me. Coiling around my trembling heart and blocking my airways.

It's a snake squeezing the life from me-

Cracking my shattered heart, even more-

waiting like a predator till there's nothing.

Then it will strike snapping my will-

My soul like a sun-bleached piece of driftwood

long forgotten by the tree that birthed it.

I smile to distract people from the dead look in my eyes.

The light that no longer flickers covered with my lies

What used to lick and flicker at the air around it with interest and wonder.

The wick has melted away, the flame has died.

And along with it the girl inside...
