As soon as Karen got through the front door she called the boys.  She had felt uneasy at leaving Finn so soon after his mishap so she was actually rather glad that her day had worked out this way.   Her relief however was short lived,  as only dead silence answered her.    Rushing upstairs she threw open Finns door,  then hastily opened Sawyers.   The boys had left the house,  and now she could see that she had been duped and in all likelihood her youngest son was probably completely over his mishap of yesterday.                                                                                              She knew it was morally wrong and she hated herself for it,  but she was worried about her sons,   more about Sawyer really, she could feel there was something badly wrong,  her mothers instinct told her so.   Yesterday she had seen the boys hugging each other and then there had been Sawyer telling her he loved her.   He was a boy that found it very hard to say what he was feeling, and she understood that.                                                                       She couldn't shake the feeling that she was missing something, and somehow although it was Finn who had been hurt  it was Sawyer that was troubled.   She looked under his bed, just his slippers, nothing untoward in his wardrobe either.   Next  the top drawer of his bedside cabinet and that looked innocent as well.   Carefully she lifted out a flyer for the upcoming village fete, and there,  underneath it, was a current underground tube map.  With a feeling of deep foreboding she unfolded it and saw that he had drawn circles around various stations.

Sawyer was feeling pleased with himself.    Here they were on their way to meet Biro,  his mum and dad were safely out of the way for the day, and he felt excited that he was going to show off his boyfriend to Finn.   In his pocket he had the second map that he had also marked and this one he would show to Biro, tell him of his plan,  and see what he thought of the idea.   Then if he liked it, he could scout around and see if there was a way they could manage to set up some kind of a life together,  and work out a way of  financing it.   Easy to speculate on,  but he knew what huge obstacles they would have to overcome,  and the thought was making him feel nervous.                                                        Ahead of him now he could see the big bamboo in the distance, and he could just make out the figure of Biro.  He waved happily to him and his friend waved back.  "Is he there now?" Finn asked,  "Yh he is, can't you see him?,"    "Just the bamboo and the pond,"  Finn replied.  At that moment Sawyer become much more visible and Finn exclaimed excitedly  "I can see him!  I can see him Sawyer,  he's real!"

As they got closer Sawyer ran to his friend and feeling slightly self concious he hugged him.  This was the first time he had physically demonstrated his feelings for another boy in front of somebody else.  "We are going to need Finns help"  he said.  But when I first saw you, he couldn't,  so will he be able to cross over?"   Biro told him that he believed that Sawyer could only see him while he was on his side of the borderline, but once he stepped accross he became visible to everyone.  It made perfect sense to Sawyer and explained why he had suddenly looked more solid and why that was the moment that Finn first could see him.                            "I have a plan," Biro continued,  "He may not be able to, but let's try this.  it will depend on how much faith he has in you though.   You hold his  hand and tell him to hold mine, and tell him that in this way he will easily cross over as we will be guiding him.  Be confident when you tell him, for he must have no doubts.  If he does have any I think he will suddenly find himself alone and still in his own world."   Sawyer ran back to his brother, who had respectfully hung back a little and explained the plan to him.

Without any hesitation Finn took hold of Sawyers hand and they walked to join Biro, and as soon as Finn reached him,  he boldly took hold of his hand also,  then with his brother and the other boy flanking him they strode towards the big bamboo.  "Don't take you eyes off of me little brother,"  Finn whispered,  "and believe!"  Resolutely they marched past the bamboo and ??????? into a field.  A field that was where the boundary fence should be,  and stretching away where the recently built Radcliff estate ought to be. " Oh my god! it's for real" gasped a wonderstruck Finn.                                                                                                                                                              With a catch in his voice Sawyer theatrically announced,  "Finn meet my~my b~boyfriend, Biro.   Biro meet my little brother Finn".  For some reason  as he stepped forward and extended his hand in greeting  instead of shaking his hand Biro drew him into a warm hug instead,  much to Sawyers obvious delight.   Releasing Finn he said "come on you two and i'll give you a tour of the farm.  Today is barter day so we have the whole place to ourselves."

They walked over to the farmhouse and Biro used a key, much like the kind the brothers were used to,  and opened the front door.  They found themselves in a small lobby from which a second door led through into the lounge.   The house felt chilly to Sawyer, and as he glanced around the room he realised there were no radiators here,  just a large open fire in a grate.  Beside it on a stand of some sort was what looked like a tool kit of some kind.  Obviously designed to assist with the moving of burning logs,  although at the moment the fire was unlit.  Through a door  they traipsed and then into a sort of second lobby with four doors.  One to a very basic kitchen with just a cooker and a sink and lots of cuboards and shelves.  Another to a toilet that looked similar to their own, except there was  no visible way to flush it.  Next door was a basic bathroom with just a bath and a sink.  Then a door to the outside rear of the house and also stairs up to the bedrooms.  Biro laughed "I won't show you up there, i'm sure a bed is a bed wherever it is."   Finn just had to ask, "You don't have televisions  in your world?"   Laughing wryly Biro said "well actually we do but because of difficulties with broadcasting distances and positions of relay masts you won't find them in out of town areas like this."                                                                                                                                  Like a master chef announcing the main course he continued,  "So!  would you like to see our kite?  we keep her out the back and I have a feeling you won't ever have seen one of these before."
