Love Will Take You Places

The meeting

   It is the half moon, and as the leaders daughter NightPad had been going to gatherings since she could walk without falling! And this was going to be her first gathering as an apprentice, she was 3 moons and a half old when she was made an apprentice(that's how old pups had to be to be apprentices). You see she was born the night of the gathering right after her father got back so she had been an apprentice for a few hours and was already going to gatherings, even though she has been since basically birth, and her apprenticeship would be announced and she would get to get on top of the tall rock! She was so excited! All her pack cheered for her as she stepped onto the tall rock in her pack she stood proudly beside her father as her blue eyes shone bright in the moon, just like her fathers, and her silver fur seemed to glow even more than her mothers fur. She was itching with excitement beside her best friend, PawPad, who had also just became an apprentice (only two days before her) and would climb up to the top of the tall rock with her, only because she begged her dad to let her...only the leaders pups are supposed to climb up on the tall rock when they were made apprentices, it wasn't a rule but they did that anyway.

   As NightPad and PawPad climbed onto the tall rock with her father, AlphaSky and as they sit down they both realized how amazing it was to be at the height of an Alpha. As soon as the two Alphas started sharing news the two new apprentices exchanged excited glances. As NightPads father mentioned her and PawPads names everyone cheered their names to celebrate their new apprenticeship.

At that moment NightPad notices a male apprentice,his light gray fur shining in the moon, sitting beside AlphaStar, "He must be AlphaStar's son..." at that moment NightPad realized he was staring back at her, and she smiled. His eyes then seemed to widen in surprise as he quickly looked away. She then looked at PawPad and PawPad whispered, "What was that about?" NightPad then whispered back just a tad to loudly, "I don-," she was cut off my her father whacking the back of her head with his tail. She looked and he was glaring at her. She then looked back at PawPad and just shrugged.

   After their apprenticeship was announced and everyone celebrated the three newly apprenticed wolves they had to hop off the rock and sat down together. She then whispered to the male apprentice from the other pack, "What's your name again?," since they are allowed to whisper if they aren't on the rock and they weren't too loud. He then whispered back, "M-My names uh...my name is MoonPad..." he said "That's a nice name! My name is NightPad, just in case you didn't hear!" He looked up from the ground his eyes sparkling. She was confused and tilted her head. He then whispered, "Our names match...Night and Moon!" Her eyes then sparked as she nodded her head. "That does make sense...tell me about yourself," she whispered. He whispered, "Well I'm one of the strongest and best apprentices...I can hunt well and fight well, and I am even starting to learn to help elders!" Her eyes widened with surprise as she asked "How long have you been an apprentice?" He said "One moon..." Her eyes then widened with surprise. "I've only been an apprentice for a few hours...so I don't know how good I am...," she said softly. "LET THE PACKS DEPART TILL NEXT HALF MOON!" the two leaders shouted. "I guess this is good bye MoonPad, until the next gathering Bye!" She then followed her father with PawPad by her side. MoonPad watched for a second as her fur seemed to sparkle in the moonlight, NightPad realized, she turned her her head slightly towards him stopping to let him see her eyes glowing like the river. Then she ran off after her father.
