It's been a moon since I found MoonPup, I renamed her so she was more like the wolves from our new pack, and she has grown a lot healthier since I found her. She was playing with VioletPup, a soft gray she-pup whose fur almost has a purple tint; DreamPup, a she-pup who has dark gray fur with silver spots and was born blind; TreePup, a male who has light brownish red fur; and RiverPup, he was the male that died and looked exactly like my mother. As I watch her run around SkyCloud and MoonLight show up dragging a deer across the ground about three bear lengths away. I get up to wait for them to get closer before I greet them. As I'm sitting there I hear a painful gasp from behind me. I turn around to see PawStep panting and bleeding from below her tail. I jump up and yell as loudly as I can, "PawStep is giving birth!" Sky cloud instantly drops the deer and sprint over to the cave as I'm soothing PawStep. I look at SkyCloud and shout, "Get her some water and a sturdy stick to bite down on!" He turns tail and races towards the trees. I turn back towards PawStep, and I lick her between the ears and mumble, "This is gonna hurt but it'll help the pups come out, is that ok?" she nods slightly in response. I press my paw down hard on her flank and I hear her gasp in pain. MoonLight rushes up and asks, "What can I do?" I reply not taking my gaze off of PawStep, "Get our pups and take them to go play, I need as much space as possible." She nods and rushes the pups over towards the bushes where a shallow stream rushed behind them.

After a few hours PawStep had her two pups, both healthy males, but MoonPup had refused to get near the stream but wouldn't explain why. I let her watch as long as she stayed at least three tail lengths away. Pawstep named her pups StormPup, for his light gray fur and CloudPup, for his white fur like his fathers. I was still worried about MoonPup still looked terrified, whatever reason she was scared of water seemed to be really effecting her. I padded over to her and curled around. I started licking her fur softly trying to calm her down, and eventually she fell asleep. I pulled my other three pups, I had started to think of MoonPup as my own, towards me and curled around all four of them protectively.
In the morning I woke up to feel of my pup trying wriggle out from under me. I sat up and the younger three started suckling. Moon sat up and seemed a lot more calm and happy like she usually was. She looked at me and asked, "What're we eating? I'm starving!" "You can go and eat some of that deer from last night," her ears perked up and she started scampering off, "and bring me back a piece!" I called after her. I could see her tail wag in a reply that she heard me. I laid my head down and closed my eyes and let the pups finish eating. MoonLight licked my ear and I looked up and mumbled, "I can't wait until they can start eating meat like MoonPup, they take so much of my energy...I'd rather be fighting and hunting." He looked at me and nuzzled my cheek he then laid down beside me and curled around me.
