It had been almost a Moon since all 7 pups were born. I was still so proud of Moon. LilyPad and been made a warrior and Moon's oldest three were now apprentices. The sun had rose not too long ago and I was walking towards their cave to wake Aurora. I was her mentor and I made sure she practiced every single day. The quicker she learns and more she practices then the better warrior she can be. She was already doing great with her training. She was a lot better at fighting and every time we practiced fighting I reminded her she should only use it for responsible reasons. I had convinced her that since I was her mentor that if she became a warrior and didn't fight only when needed that I could make her an apprentice again for 3 moons; technically you could but it'd have to be Moon to give the punishment instead of me. I nudged her gently to wake her up and she groaned. I turned towards Moon who was awake feeding as Aurora got up. "Would you mind if after I finish training me and Paw talked to you?" I mumbled only so she could hear. "Only if you can get this 7 little gremlins off my tail long enough," she said in a tired joking manner. I chuckled quietly, Aurora finished grooming her fur. I waved a goodbye with my tail as we walked out of the cave.

"Raise your tail so it doesn't brush the ground some animals have very good hearing and might hear it brush the dirt," I commanded the young wolf. She raised it up bit but I could tell if she walked an inch forward it would brush the leaves of the small tree above her. "Now you need to lower it, it would brush those leaves alerting birds that could possibly be in the tree. When a bird is alerted it will let out a warning call to make all other animals run to a safe spot." She nodded and lowered it, trying to keep it steadily in the middle behind her. I nodded that she had it correct, "now try and creep forward as quietly as you can and remember to keep your legs close to your body so if you have to run your boost will be quick." She started crawling forward and even if it was technically unfair that I had better hearing than most wolves, because of being half blind, I still could hear her steps. But in case an animal could hear as well as me I critiques her on that I could still hear her disturbing the dirt.

After she had gotten her hunting form down we decided to play a game to help her practice. It would also help her learn to listen for animal steps. It was a game that I called hunter, one player hid and the other had to find and creep up on them without being heard or saw. If they succeeded then the players switched spots. If they were heard however then the other player could come out of hiding and hunt down the hunter. I let her go first thinking I would win. Surprisingly she snuck up on me and tackled me without a single sound of movement. We played for about an hour before I told her we had to go back, "We'll play a game similar to this tomorrow when we practice fighting," I said gladly. Her eyes lit up and she ran ahead of me happily. I chuckled and started trying to catch up with her.

Moon had finally gotten her pups to stay with Storm so me, her, and Paw could talk. I decided to start, "So me and Paw were thinking, we both have talked and feel as if we can feel our home, RiverPack, near." I stopped and let Paw take over, "and we wanted to know if, well... ," she stuttered slightly, "well, I-If we could take time from our duties to try and find them. See how they're doing." Moon looked confused at first, but then I saw realization spread on her face. I guess she realized we felt the same pull home as she felt here. She smiled to us and nodded, "Of course I'd let you guys go. We need to find someone to cover your duty as mentor first though. Do you need a wolf to go with you?" Me and Paw glanced between each other. I spoke up, "No thank you sweetie, we're not even sure if they'll let us visit. They were really strict about letting wolves return after leaving back then." She nodded and told me to decide who I wanted to cover for me and then we can decide when me and Paw will leave. Moon walked away and I nuzzles into her neck. "Do you think they remember us?" I asked. "I'm not sure, but we did leave without notice. They might." I nodded in agreement and we both got up to go rest for the night.
