Chapter 5: Text Message

"Jonah.... or Mr. Marais...."
"Oh well please don't text me ever again.."
"I just want to say sorry...."
"Thank you? Just please don't text me after this."
"Ok... I just wanted to say sorry...."
"Ok.... Bye....."
I put my phone in my pocket. "Sweetie! You ok?" My mom yells from downstairs. "Yeah I'm coming sorry!" I walk back down and walk to the cutting board. "Where were you?" She asks mixing the soup.

"Sorry I couldn't find it. Though it was in plain sight," I say laughing. "It happens I understand. Just chop the stuff," she says laughing and not trying to sound rude.

"I guess it's just us two again," she sighs and pours some soup into our bowls. We both eat and talk about are days, I just don't tell her about my new teacher. I finished and put my bowl in the sink. "Hey Mom I'm sorry I would love to talk more but I have a TON of homework," I say while picking up my bag. "Ok! Love you!" "Love you too," we both say while I walk up the stairs.

It's been an hour that I have been doing my homework. "Ah!" I scream due to a rock hitting my bedroom window. I look out. "God Jesus Zach!" I open the window and Zach climbs in. Me and Zach have been neighbors since we were 7 and would climb in each other's windows since too. We both have huge trees out of our windows. "Sorry to scare you. You would think you would be used to it by now," He says laughing. We just hang out in my room till 12 at night. We used to be friends with benefits but stopped cause Zach started to like someone. It didn't work.

"So I.... I'm just saying I think... that we should go back to our old ways. Your mom doesn't care right?" "Yeah she doesn't. She doesn't if I don't get pregnant," me and Zach stare at each other for a little bit. We both lean in and make out, very passionately.
