a/n: I've always loved Sophie. I thought she was a badass witch. And shame she got killed so quickly. But she will live in fanfiction. Especially mine.

Sophie Devereaux loved her freedom above all. Being born as a witch was something she never really appreciated. It has not been an easy passage for her. She saw how the way the world of magic took its toll on all of her female side of the family. She swore to herself that it would not be the prime thing in her life, but, alas, she was born with the incredible gift of healing. So, her mother took the child with her to New York. She was an excellent student, but the world of magic was there following her, whether she wanted it or not and she agreed to pursue it when she turned sixteen. She studied medicine in daytime, and at nightime demonology and magical healing. A prophecy that was given to  her years ago, stated that the Expession witchcraft would come to rise again, uniting all the malevolent revenants with them. Resurrecting many demons. She couldn' believe when she saw her name in it and the role she will have.

Now, years after, she sat down in a cafe in Mystic Falls, and rang her sister in New Orleans.

As the woman picked up, she answered the message her sister had sent earlier.

"Yes, it's all true. This is the girl, the woman in the prophecy. You were right. You need to find that book somehow I did the binding spell.  I think he knows something too. I am going to stay here, for now. I was going to drive to NOLA to see  you-but, we really don't know if she is going to have any problems. So far, she  was fine. Sge is really nice - unlike the other! I will let you know how things go"
As she finished, she put the phone down.

She thought of Elijah and their first meeting in New York years back.

Flashback

"I am Elijah-you've probably heard of me!"

"Maybe"- the witch said- "you should have made yourself known the other night. You don't like voodoo shamans much!"

"A thank you would have been more appropriate- but I guess, it's not really in your nature to thank demons!"

"Right. Still, I was brought up to be polite. So, I will thank you for the assistance. Also for the one you extended to my sister. You are here to collect your debt?!"

You are here to collect your debt?!"

"No. Not this time. I wanted to introduce myself. That is all for now. We will be in touch."

The Original  had left then, and she had not heard from him till I few days ago when he gave her a call to collect on the debt owed. When she had heard who was in need of her help, there was no hesitation or time to wait.
