-✾CHAPTER TWO | A forgotten friendship.
[Name] takes a cab to get back home. It'd be faster to do so anyway. The cab thankfully arrives in no time and picks her up. The ride to her apartment is quiet. The driver doesn't attempt to start any kind of conversation, and [Name] absentmindedly gazes through the window, somewhat thinking back on the earlier events.
Before going to Osaka's Private Academy, [Name] attended another private Academy, which now seems ridiculous compared to Osaka's standards.
The originality of not going up now with your born talents for Mathematics, Sciences or even Music, but with your talent for gambling was something quite attractive in her opinion. The fact no other school worked this way was tempting and interesting.
To be honest, [Name] knows about the basic games like Mahjong, Black Jack and Rock Paper Scissors, but the games played at Osaka's Private Academy are inspirations from those popular games, turned into more risky and interesting games of gambling. That also is an attractive point of this school.
But [Name] never was the gambling addict. She sure knows how to play Mahjong and Solitaire, but that doesn't mean she's already played it, less while betting money.
Still, [Name] has often been lucky, as if she's a walking lucky charm.
And despite whatever her looks may say, she is quite the observant and smart girl.
The cab stops in front of her flat. She pays the driver, walks out the car and closes the door of the car before watching it drive away. She turns around and unlocks the front door. She lets it close behind her and goes up the stairs to her apartment. Unlocking her door, she slides her shoes off and walks in with her shoes in her hands. She drops them to the floor and drops her bag to the floor as well.
She then notices the bills slid under her door. She picks them up, falls on the couch and starts going through all of them.
"Water, Gaz, advertisement, advertisement, advertisement-"
She stops at one specific envelope.
... Medical bill.
She immediately throws the remaining envelopes next to her on the couch and quickly rips the envelope open. She pulls the letter out and starts reading its content intently. Her eyes run from right to left (because this is Japan) and her expression doesn't budge the slightest.
When she finishes, she drops her head and sighs.
Still the same, huh...

The next morning, [Name] hurries to the school gates as she spots Chibita near the school entrance. She catches up to him and taps on his shoulder to get his attention.
"Good morning, Chibita." She makes a small waving movement.
"Ah." Chibita turns around and blinks surprised at [Name] for the latter to come greet him after the events of the day prior. "Eh... Good morning, [Last Name]."
