It's been a couple weeks since Zoey and I went dress shopping and the dance was tomorrow night. I was slightly nervous considering everyone pretty much has a date except me.

I was just gonna go with Zoey, but she got asked. And to much dismay, it wasn't from Carter.

Another guy in our grade, Jared, got to her first and asked her with a bunch of balloons and flowers. It was really cute, but Carter didn't think so.

Things these past weeks have been changing, some good, some bad. Which do you want to hear first? Good or bad?

Let's go with bad.

My parents whole 'situation' has gotten increasingly worse. It seems they've both just kind of given up. They don't speak to one another anymore. Literally.

It's been a week since their last conversation and I guess it helps considering my dad is never home. I see him every other day for about two minutes if i'm lucky.

My mom on the other hand, I see her everyday and i'm so thankful for that, but I wish she was sober. Her drinking has increased majorly to the point, if you catch her sober then its during a hangover.

I've asked multiple times what was going on, but every time I bring it up she either changes the subject or makes an excuse to leave.

Logan has been respectful enough to not bring it up, he knows if I want to talk about it then I'll talk, but right now I just want to hold onto the hope that they can get through this.

Now to end on a good note, things have been getting better with Logan. We can actually tolerate each others presence. In fact we get along great besides the teasing and annoying jerkish behavior. But that normal.

Zoey's even been telling me about how great things have been with Carter. She's gotten passed being awkward around him and can actually maintain eye contact without feeling the need to look away.

When they are together it seems like they don't notice anyone else. Even I have to walk away sometimes because I feel like a third wheel!

In all, things have been good, besides little things, but you know what they say.

All flowers needs rain to grow.

Currently I am in the backseat of Logan's car with Zoey because Carter called dibs on the front seat.

I think dibs is a very childish and unfair way of settling things so, me being the stubborn person I am decide to fight for it.

You can obviously see how that went considering I am in the back and I was not happy about it.

I sat there, arms crossed, brows creased, and eyes gazing at the houses spinning by.

"Come on, Riley, stop pouting and get over the fact that you lost fair and square." Carter teased.

"You cheated!"

"How?" He asked baffled at my accusation.

"You literally picked me up and pried me off the door! Then proceeded to drag me to the backseat!"

"Your point?"

"Just because your taller and stronger doesn't mean you can just do whatever you want."

He rolled his eyes and turned so I could see his face fully.

"Cry baby." He glared at me.

"Cheater."

"Liar."

"Asshole."

"Drama queen."

I lunged in my seat to grab the collar of his jacket, but Zoey's arm quickly pushed me back in place. She snapped her head in his direction and sent him a glare.
