I felt a rush of panic shower over me. I had no idea what to do. I stood there, feeling everyone's eyes on me as the music dyed down. Sal turned to me.
"You like me?" He asked. I couldn't bare to speak to him.
Sal's POV
Katy likes me? This is practically a dream come true! Now was my chance. I could feel a smile on the inside, but as everyone was looking I couldn't help but hide it. I needed to find out so I wanted for definite before I make a fool out of myself.
"You like me?" I asked.
Katy's POV
Now was not the time nor the place to say anything. I couldn't even say any words but I managed to muster up a few.
"I~ I have to go" I said, running out of the place. Murr didn't even take notice but Q and Joe looked so shocked. Sal didn't say a word and in front of me as I walked down the path was Claire. I had no time for her in the mood I was in.
"Katy!" She shouted. I ignored and she kept shouting out at me.
"What!!" I shouted as I forcefully turned around. Behind her in the distance I could see Sal walking down in the distance. I completely ignored Claire and continued to walk away. I couldn't bare to see Sal. I began walking on the path next to a busy road. I had no idea where I was but I could hear footsteps directly behind me. I felt someone grip onto my upper arm, so my immediate reaction was to slap them. I turned around and saw Sal, bent down with his hand on his face.
"I'm so sorry!" I said, holding my hand over his which was covering his bruised face.
"It's fine" he lied, clearly in pain. With my hand over his, he moved his hand so mine would rest on his cheek, being accompanied by his beard. He then held his hand over mine, looking into my eyes. He gave a soft smile as we stood there, in the middle of the path. So many headlights zoomed past as we stood there in silence. I could see in Sal's eyes he was in pain again so I told him to sit down against the wall. I sat next to him.
"In my defence I didn't know it was you!" I said with a light laugh.
"Well I'm glad I have you by my side" he said to me. I placed my hand on his cheek again, carefully caressing where the bruise was. Sal stared intently into my eyes and slowly leaned in. He planted a soft but gentle kiss on my lips.
