After an hour of hearing Lee, Angelina and George discuss the Yule ball, trying to figure out who'd cursed her with Fred actually seemed like fun. However, she'd forgotten the situation and the moment she stood up and announced where she was going, she was met with a chorus of 'Oooo!' from the trio.

"Shut up!" She murmured, quickly adding a Fred-like grin on the end.

"Your lady love awaits you," George said dramatically, lowering his glass of water "Don't let us hold you back, Freddy, I'd hate to be a distraction from you and your lady love."

"Stop calling him - "

"Him?" George almost choked on his water, "Fred, is there something you want to tell us?"

"Your lordly love?" Lee suggested.

"No, Aubrey is most definitely female," She replied, aware of how weird it sounded, "I just got confused..."

There was a moment's silence before George, his mouth obscured by the glass, stated, "You should ask her to the Yule Ball."

Her reply was instantaneous, "No!"

Annoyingly, George and Lee exchanged a look as George said, "Well, why not?"

Aubrey became aware of cheeks flushing, "Just ... no."

"Come on, Freddy, it's been a slow year for us, it would help is one of us got some - "

"GEORGE!" Angelina exclaimed, leaning over and giving a shove, "At least I hope it's George ... or don't, whichever one of you that was deserved it! Anyway, you shouldn't be pressuring Fred to ask out Aubrey, if he doesn't want to do it, there's no pressure to. I for one, will probably just be going with a friend since Sam and I broke up, not really in the mood for romance."

"Better find some friends then," George sniggered, earning himself another shove from Angelina which made him break into laughter, "I'm kidding, Ang!"

The nickname brought memories of her own best friend and she suddenly felt a burning desire for normality once again. Still, for normality, she needed to figure out who had shaken up her life in the first place and for that, she needed to leave.

"See, if you don't want to go with them, you can come with me. You're a hell of a lot better than these two," Angelina replied, before mouthing 'Save me!'.

Aubrey simply gave her a smile, "Well, we shall see. I guess that would be a nice silver lining so perhaps..."

With that, she left, ready for another meeting of amateur sleuthing.

Despite her aversion to romance in general, even she had started to consider who to take to the Yule ball. She could go stag but wasn't really in the mood for that, plus she sensed solo wasn't really Fred's style, considering he'd literally been born with someone else. A small part of her had hoped that they'd be switched back by the time the dance rolled around and she could go with George in her own body, the blessing in disguise she so longed for but sensed that wasn't going to happen. Her mind had just begun to consider Angelina again when the obvious choice hit her: Fred.

It would fulfil George's wishes and was really the only true option to minimise awkwardness, she only hoped he would be on board.

When she arrived at the classroom, Fred was already there, lounging casually on the desk. As she walked past, she gave him a flick on the nose which made him sit up with a start.

"Hard day, hon?"

Fred gave her a weary look, "You don't even know the half of it, it's not just today it's been every day for the past few days."
