Okay guys gals and non binary magicals... I had drafts up to chapter 46 ready but I got writers block and it was super late so I just deleted every draft up until here so..... enjoy?

Anxiety's pov
He took my makeup off and didn't hit me.

What the hell is his end game?

I don't know but I like it. But at the same time, I don't deserve this. The false compliments, the soft touch.

He probably just wants to use me like Depression.

He looked at me somewhat longingly.

Let's test that theory.

I smirked and leaned in a bit and whispered, "Didn't you say you'd give me something in return?"

I leaned in closely but pulled back slightly at the last minute.

He tried to get closer but I pulled back all the way.

"Anx..." he whispered.

Crap. On one hand, that was hot. On the other hand, he probably doesn't want me and I need to see what he's planning.

Let's go with the second one.

He did look like he was about to kiss me but.... why?

I got up and walked towards the door. "You can give it to me later."

He spoke up, "Wait Anxiety..."

I leaned against the door with one shoulder, arms crossed. "What do you need Roman?"

"I like when you say my name."

"Okay..., " I felt my face heating up but kept my expression the same, "if that's all I'm gonna head to my room."

He smiled, probably since he could see my face turning red and how weak I was, but as I turned he said, "Shouldn't we talk about this?"

I sighed, trying my hardest to avoid ending whatever we had, "I don't know, you tell me. You're the sappy romantic one."

"Umm well—"

"Okay great talk, I need to go put makeup on again."

"Wait! Why?"

"Why what?" I sighed, exasperated.

"Why do you wear makeup?"

I paused. Wasn't expecting that.

"Ummm... where I come from I had to wear it."

"What do you mean?"

"You know, the host before Thomas."

He looked at me confused, "No one's had a host other then Thomas. What were they like?"

"Crap." I mumbled under my breath.

"He was... let's just say he meant well."

Why didn't I just say he was normal? Standard? Now he's confused and he'll hurt me to get answers and things were going so well—

I gave him a weak smile and walked out before he could say another word.

After I closed the door I leaned against it.

"That was close."

I walked to my room and when I was almost in I heard, "Hey kiddo! Can I talk to you for a second?"
