Warning: implied doing the do... and bad grammar probably.

Logan's pov
"Pat, we have to go back eventually." I pointed out.

Patton sighed, "I know but what about Virgil?"

"What about me?" We jumped at his voice as we simultaneously spun around.

"Good, Virgil, you're up! Are you feeling better?"

He nodded, "When do we go back?"

"Now—"

"Actually, it depends on how you feel. Would you be able to go back soon?"

"We can go now, Patton. I promise I'm okay." Virgil surprised us when he hugged Patton.

"Thanks though." He headed towards the door, as if physical contact was something he initiated often.

By the time we got back to the Swamp Village, it was dark. As we walked through towards Anger's tent, a few soldiers saluted in our direction or when we walked past. Patton leaned closer to me and whispered, "What's going on?"

"I'm not sure. We'll get Anger to explain soon."

When we got to the tent, Anger was looking over his map while eating.

"Ang?" Patton asked.

He looked up, "Good, you're back. I don't know if you could tell by the way people were acting upon your arrival, but I've promoted Logic to acting general. The army seems to really respect you."

"Do I get no say in this?" I asked.

Anger shrugged, "If you don't want to, you don't have to. It just seemed like a good, quick, solution to one of our many problems."

".....Fine. What's happened since our departure?"

"Well, you were only gone a grand total of one and a half days, but Deceits troops have already taken over a small section of Thomas's thoughts. We need to get to his next target before he finds a way to gather more followers. But I can't seem to find a pattern."

"What if we split the army similar to how we did previously to find Morality and Anxiety? How many locations do we need to cover?"

My phone buzzed and I curtly pulled it out only to see Kristen tried to call me. I can't really have a conversation with her right now, as much as I'd love too.

"We need 233 places covered...." Anger sighed, "That's why I haven't given word for that particular course of action yet."

"Why don't we just warn people in that particular location that they need to arm themselves and send a few troops out? We might not be able to send people to every place, but I'm sure some of them can fend for themselves." Anxiety pointed out.

"Can we do that?" I turned to Anger.

He nodded and yelled as he walked out of the tent.

"Good thinking, Anx!" Patton smiled.

Krissys pov
Fuck them all, they can go down a metal slide on a boiling day.

This is stupid. I'm just here to sell people stuff and all of the sudden I have to pick sides now?

"—Kris?"

"Yeah, I'm still here, and I hear you, but please send soldiers."

There was a break over the phone. "No promises."

I swallowed as the line hung up.

I hurried to my older spell books and started frantically flipping through one.

I'm not sure if I'm so powerful I can take on an entire army of dark sides, and brainwashed lesser sides.

Deceits pov
"Good work today, our next location in the very edge of the dark mind, where many magic users stay. We'll be attacking in half a day, so gather your bearings."

"Deceit?" Prince asked meekly.

I turned to look down on him, "Do you need something?"

He seemed to shrink away, which, I'm not gonna lie (like usual...), it made me smile.

"What..... What do we do about the civilians?"

"We'll take them somewhere safe."

"I don't think they'll go peacefully." He added, worriedly.

"I guess we'll see who's right in a bit, little lady."

His face shifted from surprise to embarrassed.

I turned and ordered a few people to pull ahead and get some horses ready for tomorrow, purposely avoiding Princes questioning look, for now.

Romans pov
What was that?! Does he like me in that way, or was it just a nickname? On top of that, do I like him? It's not like I have a romantic interest at the moment since Virgil and I fought.

And though I've never thought about Deceit like that, It'd be nice to have a boyfriend that respects me and values my opinions.

So when he pulled me aside and kissed me softly, I didn't pull back. After some time, I even kissed back shyly.

I felt him take control of us, undoubtedly knowing he wanted more.

He pulled me up towards his room.

I paused outside, "I- I'm not sure—"

"It's now or never, and if it's never, I'm afraid we won't be in touch to much longer." Most people would mistake that as harsh words, but I know he means well.

I took a few shaky steps inside and he closed the door.

Like I said in my other book: I'm new, improved, and ready to groove!
