I'm sorry this is late.... I've been kinda busy :/.
Patton's pov
I saw Virgil shaking, so I made a noise to try and confirm he wasn't alone. "Mphff!"He looked up and both of our attention turned to the door that suddenly came slamming shut.
A hooded figure walked in quietly. They glided across the room to Anxiety.
The hood was pulled down to reveal a small boy around age 10, if I had to guess. He reached his knife and grabbed Anxiety by the hair, pulling him forward. His face was inches from the blade.
I let out a muffled squeak. I tried to move towards him but was yanked back by the chains on my wrists.
He pressed the blade to Anxiety's cheek, slowly applying more pressure.
Anxiety's breath hitched as blood slid down the knife.
I tried to scream out 'stop' but all that came out was, "Mmmmph!"
Anxiety seemed to be taking it weirdly ok. I knew it hurt but he didn't seem to show it.
I have to help him! If I don't I won't be able to live with myself.
Princes pov
"It could be days.... the mindscape is huge." Anger answered looking over his map.Logan was deep in thought, trying to come up with a solution, "Could you spare a few soldiers? We could divide them evenly through four quadrants ranging from north to south."
"We should accompany two groups in case they get attacked." I added in.
"Don't be ridiculous, I would be nearly useless in a fight and though you have skill in that area, we can't afford to go into battle. As main traits we shouldn't be put at risk."
Great. Another idea thrown in the gutter. "You didn't have to call it ridiculous." I muttered under my breath.
"I could send up to 20 people per troop." Anger answered, turning to a guard. "Go to the barracks and ask for volunteers to find the main traits Anxiety and Morality."
The soldiers eyes widened at the mention of their names and hurriedly took off.
"The guards take Thomas's safety very seriously. As should most traits but some are drunk with power." Anger muttered, looking over his map of the battlefield. "I'm afraid you two will have to entertain yourselves until the troops get back with a report."
Logan nodded understandably and I just left the tent, but not before politely thanking Anger for all he's done.
I walked out, planning on exploring a bit outside of the village. That didn't work out so well.
A small figure came into view as I was strolling through the edge of the forest. "Hello?" I asked cautiously, hand on the hilt of my sword.
The figures response was simply, "I've been sent by Deceit. He says he'd like to meet up at the castle once more."
I smiled lightly. Maybe Deceit would happen to know where Patton and Anxiety are! "That sounds lovely. Only, I'm afraid I'll have to decline as I'm unsure of the castles location."
"Sir, I would be honored to lead you there." The figure sounded like a boy but we don't want to assume gender in this book.
"Thank you. I'm forever grateful." The figure waved for me to follow and led on.
We were walking for what seemed like maybe half an hour when they stopped. "This is it." The figure responded quietly.
I looked up at the familiar castle. "Many thanks my fellow trait."
