Percy

My mouth opened wide and I looked at everyone else with my mouth still open pointing at Emma. I look back at her and my surprised face turned into an angry face and I look at everyone with a scowl on my face and I glare at Emma. Then I became relieved because we found the trident and I look at Emma and sigh a relieved sigh. Then remember again what she did and I look at Ariana, Annabeth, Piper, Hazel, Frank, and Leo. I look over at Emma and say, "Okay, look, you don't just go around and steal really powerful gods' tridents. That's a no-no."

Annabeth walks calmly over to Emma, flicks her in the head, and takes the trident.

Well that was easy.

I think and raise my eyebrows.

Annabeth turns around and leaves. As we are heading out of the door we hear Emma say under her breath something like, "You are going to regret that." I guess I was the only one that heard because no one else turned around to look at Emma.

She looked the same as usual, just something different about her. Something that I can't notice until I walk up closer to her. You could see her veins and when she smiled she had pointy teeth.

"RUN!"

I yell.

We run out of the house not even thinking about her mom. We run out the door into the cool night. Now that I remember fall is coming soon and it's coming fast. We run across the lawn-that really needs to be mowed by the way. I should really give them Demeter's kid's numbers-and Emma's mom popped out in front of us and we screamed.

"Hello, friends,"

She smiles that smile that makes me grimace with her sharp pointy teeth.

But when I saw who they really were in their actual form I knew exactly who they were.

They were gorgons.

Emma bursts out from her window on the second floor and lands on her feet.

She's more cat than gorgon.

"Annabeth! Trident!"

She points it at the gorgons and yells,

"I CAN'T DO IT, PERCY, I CANT DO IT!"

While stomping her feet on the ground.

"I meant give it to me, Annabeth."

"Well, you could've said that."

"I think when I say 'Annabeth. Trident' that means'Annabeth, give me the trident'"

"How was I supposed to know that?!"

"YOU'RE A DAUGHTER OF ATHENA HOW DO YOU NOT NOW WHAT IT COULD MEAN?!"

"Let's just-let's just finish this later."

"Agreed."

I say and look at Emma and her mom,

"Are you guys done now?"

Emma asks,

"Yes we are."

I say and grab the trident from Annabeth.

I point the trident at the gorgons and nothing happens. I shake the trident and try again. Nothing.

"Kill! Attack! Cut their head off! Stab them in the heart! GO THROUGH THEIR THROAT AND KILL THEM!"

I say all of these commands and nothing happens.

I hear laughing in my head,

"STOP IT CONSCIENCE THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO LAUGH!"

I yell thinking it's my conscience.

"No, son, it's me Poseidon your awesome father!"

"GO AWAY."

I yell.

"No!"

The gorgons hissed.

"Not you. If you could excuse me for just one moment."

The gorgons look at me and blink then shrug,

"Okay."

Emma's mom answered.

"Dad, what do you want?"

"You can't do it!"

"Do what?"

"the trident."

"Well I know that, father."

"Only I, the Great and Mighty Poseidon, can use it."

"Well that's not fair."

"Well, it is my trident."

"But I am your son."

"Anaklumos."

Is all he said before laughing and leaving my head.

Duh, Percy.

I grab Riptide from my pocket and h onto it.

I whisper to Annabeth and say to distract them. She does her job perfectly and I go behind them and click the pen slicing their heads off.
