Scout's P.O.V.
I ran away from my base, flipping off Medic who barely opened the door. He started cussing at me in German, but his voice got fainter the more I ran away from the base. Thank God I escaped. Then again, it just means that I'm gonna have to have my check up another day.
As soon as I thought it was safe, I let myself stop running and I fell face first into a steaming hot pile of sand. I turned myself onto my back and laid there for a little while, looking at the clouds. Then I got up and started running to my right, trying to get to my own little slice of heaven.
Everytime my body decided to stop running, I stopped running and sat down on the sand, drinking water to keep me hydrated. I glace up to where the sun is, and saw that it was already starting to set. I knew I wasn't going to make it there by sunset. Then again, I already knew the way there. I got up, dusted myself off, and kept running.
I finally reached it; the meadow. My legs burned in agony from running so much. I slowly walked to the oak tree and sat down, thankful for not having to running anymore. I rested my head on the tree trunk, staring at the stars and the moon. I closed my eyes, and drifted off to sleep. Or at least I tried to, because the second I closed my eyes, I heard a snap of a twig close by.
I jumped up, searching for who or what caused the noise. I picked up a nearby branch and began walking to where the noise was. I looked behind me, just in case the creature was following me.
Snap!
I turned back to where the first sound came from, only to see the Blu Pyro squatting down to get some daisies. It must have heard me, because it turned around and looked straight at me.
Fucking shit! Why the fuck is he here!? What is it gonna do to me? I stood still as the Pyro stood up, flowers in hand, and began to walk towards me.
Pyro's P.O.V.
I walked towards the Red Scout. My instincts for our fights told me to kill him, but I thought against it. I kept walking to him until I was barely a foot away. Fear was in his eyes. It hurt to see how terrified people were of me, but I was used to it. I stared at him, admiring his Royal Blue eyes.
He began shaking. I looked at him in confusion. Is he really that scared of me?
I took his hand, careful not to drop the daisies, and said, "I'm not going to hurt you. I promise." He stared at me in horror and pulled his hand away from me. I felt my heart break. I looked down at my gloved hand. Why can't I be normal?
I turned and walked away, pretending not to be hurt. I began to collect more flowers. After I felt I had enough, I walked back to the tree that Scout was sitting under. I set all the flowers down under the tree and walked to another tree close by. When I got to it, I looked up, and saw that my bag was still there.
This was always the tricky part. I reached for a branch that was at my feet, and began poking the bag so it could fall. It wasn't moving. Of course, I thought bitterly.
I jumped up to grab a branch, and tried to climb up ton the branch. I fell, landing on my back. I groaned in pain, wishing that I just didn't come here tonight. Then, I saw a hand reach towards me. It was the Scout's.
"Ya just gonna stare at me or are gonna let me help ya up?" Scout said, sounding a bit annoyed. I grabbed his hand, and he pulled me up with so much force, I hit his chest. I look up at him, seeing if there was any hint of disgust in his eyes. I smiled, realizing that there wasn't any.
Scout pushed me away, and looked at the bag. "Ya tryin' ta get that bag up there?" I nodded, and watched in awe as Scout did his magical double jump and grabbed the bag. He landed in front of me, grunting a bit from the hard landing. I jumped up in excitement and hugged him, careful not to squeeze the bag.
