(Y/N) - Your Name
Your P.O.V.
I woke up in a shitty mood today. I couldn't believe my luck. Scout ate all of my breakfast, which meant that I had to work without eating; the (RED/BLU) won today; and I just so happened to cut my entire palm in half. Thankfully, I was able to ask Medic to heal me.
I was kinda concerned about everyone though. They kept looking at me as if they were hiding a secret from me. I don't know what they were doing, but I couldn't care less. I was tired and I wanted to take a nice, long nap. I told the team this and I went to bed.
Third Person P.O.V.
Everyone from the team was setting up the secret party that they planned to throw for (Y/N). Medic and Engineer were the leaders of this plan, and they assigned everyone else roles that fit into their personality or skill: Scout was in charge of the games, Pyro and Heavy were in charge of the food, Soldier the presents, Demo the refreshments, Sniper the entertainment and music, and Spy with the decoration of the room. Everyone was rushing to get their parts done before (Y/N)'s birthday. They planned to wake them up as soon as the clock hit 12, so they were in a big time rush to get this all done.
Medic was helping Sniper when a crash happened in the kitchen. Everyone rushed to the kitchen as quietly as they could, except Spy; he immediately ran to (Y/N)'s room to make sure they weren't awake. When everyone walking into the kitchen, they saw the Pyro and Heavy arguing with a spilled bowl of cake batter at their feet.
"How kould you say zat to me! I have done so much for team! What have you done for team, much less (Y/N)?" Heavy says in a whisper-shout.
Pyro apparently started to get angry, since they then started to murmur aggressively about cake batter and wasting their time. Heavy glared daggers at the pyromaniac, but kept his mouth shut in order to get through with cooking the party food. Everyone went back to their stations and continued to work on getting the party ready. Spy came back from his rounds around the base, reported to the team that (Y/N) was still asleep, and started to help Engineer put up streamers. Medic walked out of the dining room to talk to Sniper about the music that they would play for (Y/N), when another disaster seemed to happen.
The teleporter stopped working, and Demoman still needed to bring to drinks to the base. Engineer volunteered for the task of driving all the way to Teufort, but remembered that he gave his van to Soldier in order to get (Y/N)'s gifts. Medic was sent to retrieve the Scotsman, and thus the team became 6. Everyone worked in silence, each working as the well oiled machine that they are.
It was getting closer to 12, so they had to work fast if they wanted to throw (Y/N)'s party on time. Medic came back with Demoman, with Soldier arriving right on their heels, and they hurriedly helped him with the drinks. Pyro walked into the room with a bag of party hats and handed everyone a hat. They placed the 10th party hat on the main table for (Y/N). They knew that (Y/N) would enjoy it, since it was their favorite color.
It was 10 to 12 am, and everyone started to argue about who should be the one that would wake (Y/N) up. After an intense game of Paper-Rock-Scissors and having nobody win, they all agreed to wake her up in a very ... interesting way.
A loud alarm rang throughout the base, startling (Y/N) out of their slumber. They immediately jumped out of bed, half asleep. They groggily ran to the briefcase room, only to find the breifcase still there. Why did the alarm go off, then? They walked out of the briefcase room and stood in the hallway, listened closely to the announcement that was continuously playing throughout the base.
"Intruder alert! (BLU/RED) Spy in the base!"
A nice came from their right. The... kitchen? Why would the Spy be in the kitchen?
With a careful step, (Y/N) inched their way to the kitchen door. They knew that they had no weapon to defend themselves. They looked around desperately for a plank or a wrench or anything, but to no avail. Well, here goes nothing, they thought.
(Y/N) rushed into the room, only to see confetti fall in front of their face. They glanced around and saw the entire (BLU/RED) team wearing party hats and smiling at them.
"Why...?" they began, when they were interrupted by the team shouting "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, (Y/N)!"
(Y/N) twisted their head around to look at every one of their teammates bright faces. A smile slowly crept onto their own face. Then, (Y/N) started to cry.
Everyone was alarmed. Wasn't (Y/N) supposed to be happy? The team huddled around (Y/N), trying to comfort them.
"No, you guys. You've got it all wrong," (Y/N) said. "I'm just so happy to have you guys as my family."
Everyone stood shocked, but then their smiles increased tenfold. (Y/N) called us family!
A big group-hug ensued, and a couple seconds after, Scout announced that it was time to start the party. It lasted hours, and, to say the least, it was one of the best parties that they've had in years.
