Historical Romance AU: Son Wu Kong and Jung Sam Jang are secret lovers and this is their story
Circa 1400s Joseon Period
The sun was out today for the first time after winter, cherry blossoms were starting to show that just meant the spring was coming. Son Wu Kong smiled to himself, it was his Jung Sam Jang's favorite season of all time, she would be really thrilled.
"Ya. Wu Kong! Don't just stand there boy!" his uncle, Oh Jeong scolded him. They were both in charge of the horse stables for the Jung's household.
Son Wu Kong was sold off to the Jungs when he was just seven years old, he was an orphan boy and no one knew what they wanted to do with him. The chief master of the house, Lord Jung Do Ryeong bought him for a cheap worth and made him to help Sa Oh Jeong in the stables. The old man Sa Oh Jeong was rough In the edges but he had a kind heart and treated Son Wu Kong as his own.
Wu Kong bowed his head apologetically and grabbed his fork knife and began to refill the hay for the horses to eat. One thing that Wu Kong only knows about his master is that he adored his horses. Sa Oh Jeong has emphasized this a million times in order for him to never make a mistake when it comes to his horses. During Wu Kong's twenty years of serving the master, he had not once had a conversation with the man that serves. The Lorship would only give him orders which he would just acknowledge with a "Yes". To him, Wu Kong was just a mere servant, a stable boy and he has no rights to receive an amount of words from his Lordship.
"Our chores are finally done, Wu Kong ah. Let us have our meal now." Sa Oh Jeong patted his back, relieved that there chores were done.
Wu Kong's eyes widen in realization, "Is it midday already?"
Sa Oh Jeong nodded, surprised by the sudden change of behavior. Wu Kong smiled and placed the pitch fork down. He hurriedly went out of the stable, hoping he'd be able to make it on time.
"Where are you going?!" Sa Oh Jeong cried. Wu Kong did not turn around and continued to run as fast as he could.
But he answered out loud anyway, as he held his hand up to wave, "I have somewhere I have to be!"
Wu Kong was giddy with excitement; this was his favorite time of the day and he can't wait.
He was going to see her.

He hid behind a tree, careful to not be seen. Usually all the female were still indoors but there were guards everywhere not that Wu Kong had a problem getting passed the guards. He had sneaked in numerous of times and he had never been caught. Not even once. Even Sam Jang calls him a monkey sometimes.

Jung Sam Jang, the eldest daughter of his master, his ladyship and the love of his life. Sam Jang had also been seven when he had arrived. He remembered vaguely that no one even gave him the time of day but she did.
