"Your eyes are swollen." Ji Young noted as she watched Jin Seon Mi stare into space. She had been like that for weeks now, unable to speak, move or actually live. It was if life was drained out of her.
Jin Seon Mi sat up, "I have to go."
Ji Young widened her eyes and quickly went to her, "And where do you think you are going?"
"I have to see him, Ji Young ah. Maybe If he sees me, he will change his mind." She got up frantically but Ji Young was quick to stop her. She held both her shoulders firmly, so that Jin Seon Mi won't be able to move.
"Stop it. Jin Seon Mi."
"Move!" Jin Seon Mi yelled as she tried to go around but her best friend would not let her.
Ji Young shook her shoulders, "Snap out of it, Seon Mi! He is not coming back! For Christ sake, have a little self respect!"
Jin Seon Mi broke down in tears, the numbing pain in her heart was unbearable. "He left me." She sobbed, her eyes were stinging so much from the crying.
Ji Young's heart went out to her best friend; it broke her heart to see her this way. She rubbed her back as she cried and cried.
Jin Seon Mi made a fist and started to lightly hit the left side of her chest. Desperately hoping and praying that the pain could subside a little but it did not. Not even a little bit.
"When does it all go away? How can I make the pain stop?" she sobbed so hard that she started to hyperventilate.
Ji Young wrapped both her arms around her shoulders; Jin Seon Mi leaned over to Ji Young's arms. "It hurts so much. Please...please make it go away."
"Ssh. It's okay. You will be okay, Jin Seon Mi. Trust me. " Ji Young soothed her hair as Jin Seon Mi cried.
