"Get away from me, I didn't even do anything."
The girl standing in front of you pushed her boyfriend forward. It was another one of those pick on me for something I didn't even do moments. This time it was that you called her a b**ch, although you were thinking about doing it then. Her boyfriend glared at you through narrowed eyes. You prepared yourself for the hit as a crowd began to form.
SLAP
It echoed throughout the halls and your head snapped to the side. You let out a small whimper, immediately regretting it.
He laughed, raising his fist to strike you in the gut. You closed your eyes, ready for the pain but nothing came. You opened one eye to see him standing in front of you, squeezing the boy's wrist.
"Hit her one more time and I'll hit you harder."
He let go of the boy's wrist, grabbing yours instead. He pulled you throughout the halls, stopping at the first aid. He grabbed an ice pack, gently placing it on your cheek.
"Let me know if he bothers you again."
You nodded, butterflies erupting in you stomach as he brushed a strand of hair behind your ear.
