Half & Half
Chapter Twenty Five
Time stood still as the pair stood rooted to the spot in the middle of the woods, each taking in the delicious smell of the other as it washed over them wave after wave of intoxicating ecstasy. Jacob could not believe his luck with her standing here in his arms, he didn’t imagine she would change her mind so quickly, a big mistake seen as she was Bella’s daughter and her decisions in the past were pretty spontaneous. Simultaneously, Renesmee couldn’t believe her luck either, she knew her and Jacob often thought alike but little did either of them know, if a mate’s feeling was strong enough to influence and inhibit the other’s, they would be drawn to each other like a moth to a flame without any control of bodily movements.
Eventually their lips pulled apart as they stood gently panting, both eyes fixed cast downward looking at a focal point on the others’ body. One of them would have to speak soon, to break the ice that would cool the burning fire of desire that glowed from within them.
“I can’t believe you’re here.” Jacob said, still faintly panting from their almost erotic-like kiss.
“Of course I’m here, why would I not be?”
“I just thought…with what happened; I didn’t think you’d be so wanton for me.”
“W-Who said I-I was wanton? Y-you know how we both feel, it’s unavoidable, and amazingly romantic.”
“Me? Romantic? Yeah I guess I can be, but my style of romance isn’t as traditional like most.” He smirked as he was pretty random when it came to romance, always keeping Renesmee guessing as to what he would think up next.
“That’s true.” She giggled as she knew him all too well by this point, but as with Bella’s unpredictability, Edward found it awfully entertaining as does Renesmee, sometimes it was more entertaining than Paul and Emmett going at it full on WWE style to see who was the stronger of the two.
Jacob stood back just a little enough so he could look down on her without his arms being pulled away from her, her angelic face and rosy cheeks washed away all of the lingering wavering thoughts about their mini argument, he just wanted to claim her here right here and now but once more he knew this wasn’t the right time, right now he just wanted to show her a good time today and tonight, to forget what happened and look forward to what should be.
“Jacob” Renesmee interjected his thoughts.
“Yes?”
“I’m sorry. I know in your heart you’ve already forgiven me, but, I was wrong to force myself upon you and wanting more. Just a night alone with no worries, no troubles, and no interruptions would make me happy and put my mind at ease. I’ve not really spoken to anyone about all of this, how I feel and how I am personally coping with this, and all of that wanting and desperation came out when we met the other night, so Jacob…” she looked up at him, eyes sparking like they’d just met for the first time. “…I’m sorry, I love you Jacob, please forgive me.” she pleaded as if her life were on the line.
Jacob couldn’t believe his ears, he imagined her apologising but he never envisaged such a moving emotional speech such as this. His heart and body ached for her, the feeling never faded throughout the whole of her apology. He took his hands from hers and put them on her cheeks, giving her his dazzling smile that would make her weak at the knees, forgetting her troubles. “Renesmee.” He said softly, so soft anyone listening wouldn’t hear anything but a whisper. Her lips pressed upon his before he could say anymore; giving him what he would have given her only she could not wait any longer.
The hunger that bloomed within both of their stomachs was subdued by one single kiss, the legendary kiss that said a thousand words acted as water to their inner fire. Renesmee’s hands steadily held his forearms as his held her delicate waist, keeping her close to him without the microscopic spark being ignited fuelling their deep fiery passion. The two stood close together before soon the fire was all but distant embers, replaced now by brief breaths and smiles that stretched wider than their faces combined.
“Renesmee…” Jacob paused, tucking one of her curls behind her ear. “You’re already forgiven, because you’ve done nothing wrong. You panicked and that’s perfectly normal, you just didn’t know how to handle me saying no to something you’ve been wanting, I get it.” He stroked her hair gently. “Next time, not that I plan to say no to you again, give me a chance, okay?”
She nodded and smiled, kissing the palm of his hand, placing hers on top.
“Okay Jacob, thank you. I don’t think I’ll ever keep saying how sorry I am but I really am sorry. I thought I wanted it anyway, but looking back on how I acted yesterday it was just out of wanting something normal in the middle of all the crazy that is going on.”
“I know, trust me I want something normal too, we just have to wait a bit longer for normal though, okay?”
She nodded.
“Okay, I’ll wait.”
“But, how about for now, me and you on a beach eating as the sun sets hmm?” he watched her as her face lit up, enhancing her already prominent beautiful and delicate features.
“It sounds just perfect.”
“Not as perfect as you.”
She rolled her eyes and laughed at his cheesy compliment, he suited it well as it’s what got the biggest smile from her sculpted lips.
“Shall we?” he held out his hand, tanned hand extended towards ivory white.
“Yes.” She whispered softly through her lips, placing her hand in his gently. In way of a change, Jacob did not phase to a wolf much to Renesmee’s surprise, but instead he led her towards the beach walking like a normal human couple, putting his arm around her waist, keeping her close to his side as they walked off towards the sunset beach.
