Chapter 5

Maggie's POV

I wake up and check my notifications, still being avoided by jack.

I change into leggings and a hoodie, deciding to take tater tot on a run.

I put my hair in a pony tail and grab his leash.

I start running around the board walk. I don't even notice that I'm in the neighborhood I grew up in. The house I used to live in before my mom kicked me out.

As I get closer I notice my moms car is crashed.

I still care about my mom even thought she might not care about me.

I try opening the front door but it's locked. I grab and extra key from under the mat and open it.

I walk in with tater tot and as I walk deeper in the smell of alcohol fulls my nose.

I turn the corner and see my mom crying there in the corner with a letter in her hand. I run up to her and hug her

"What happened?" I ask her

"Nothing get out" she says and pushes me so hard back that my shoulder hits the wall really hard, i can tell that's going to leave a bruise

"Mom plea-"

"GET OUT MAGGIE" she yells and I run out with tater tot.

Does my own mother really hate me?

I run to the café and decide to make a phone call to Caleb

"Caleb I should have told you this sooner bu-" I say but get cut off

"Wait I have something to say MY CAREER AS A PHOTOGRAPHER IS FINALLY STARTING TO LAUNCH" he says with excitement, I knew I couldn't ruin it for him

"So What were you gunna say?"

"Oh uh...I got a job" I lie

"That's so good" he says

"Okay well bye" I say and hang up

As I'm walking to Arias house I notice curly hair in the distance.

I decide to run up to them, it might be jack. It is him

"Jack I know what I did was wrong and I understand if you don't wanna be friends anymore but please don't ignore me" I say

"No I still want to be your friend it's just from now on no more secrets" he says

"Promise" I say with a smile we continue walking until we reach a small park

"So what do you see your self doing in 2 years" I ask

"On a stage singing in front of thousands of people" he says

"What about you"

"I have no idea" I respond

"Okay this is boring, let's go do something. I know a cool arcade around here" he says

"Of course you do"

"So is that a yes" he asks

"Yes Avery" I say and we head to the arcade

Once we get there we start playing different games.

"This is for you" he says handing me a stuffed panda

"Thanks I feel so special" I say with sarcasm as the end, we continued playing until this ratchet looking girl came up to jack

"Hey" She says

"Hey" he replies

"I'm Sarah" she says

"Jack"

"So can I like get your number" she says

"Yeah sure why not" he says and he gives her his number.

They continue talking the whole time while I'm just sitting in the corner with my panda. I bet jack forgot I was even there.

I decide to just leave, it wouldn't even make a difference. I leave and just as expected he didn't notice. Was I jealous? Maybe.

I walk back to Arias house.

As I'm halfway way there I receive a message from jack, where did you go? The message read.

I decide to just ignore it.

I reach Arias house and see tater tot sleeping. I walk upstairs and see aria with this guy. I decide to just give them some space.

I head out to the beach since it wasn't to far and the sun was just beginning to set.

I sit down on the sand and watch the sun set.
I really wish I was in LA right now.

But nope, I'm stuck in this dumb world we call reality where people say meaningless things and do stupid stuff which they regret later on.

But that's it, that's reality.
