Chapter 14

Maggies POV

I walk inside and see the police man talking to my mom, and then he just leaves.

The second the police officer leaves my mom drags me by my hair to the kitchen.

She grabs a lighter and puts it so close to my face I could feel the heat even though it wasn't on my face

"please stop" I whisper

"Not until you tell me the truth" she responds

"About?"

"I know you called Caleb, and that he offered you a home Los Angeles. What are you planning to do" she say while tightening her grip on my hair

"I don't know what your talking about" I say knowing if she actually did know she wouldn't let me go even if I turned eighteen

"Your pathetic" she says and pushes me on the floor and walks into the living room. I take that as a chance and call jack.

Right as he picked up my mom came back into the kitchen. She takes the phone and smashes it on the wall.

She then kicks me really hard around my ribs.

"Stop" I say crying a bit because of the pain.

I try to get up from the floor, but wince in pain.

She grabs me by hair and starts smashing my head against the wooden floor.

Jacks POV

I was watching Tv when I hear my phone ring from upstairs.

I run up and see that Maggie is calling me, I answer but hear no response. Oh no..

Maggie's POV

She continues to do that until I hear someone open the door, my mom stopped hitting me because of the other person.

But I couldn't see who it was because my vision was getting blurry.

Jacks POV

I run to Maggie's house burst open the door.

There I see her mom bashing her head on the floor, her mom notices me and stops what she's doing.

She sees me and makes a run for it through the back door. I would've chased her but I was concerned about Maggie.

I ran to her in the kitchen and see blood coming out of the side of her head.

I instantly call 911 and tell them what happened. I get down on my knees and held her in my arms.

She looked at me for a second and then she closed her eyes.

"no c'mon Maggie stay with me" I say on the verge of tears, until finally tears start rolling down my cheeks.

Finally the police arrived and an ambulance.

The ambulance took her in the ambulance truck me with her.

We arrive at the hospital and tell me to wait in the waiting room while they settle Maggie in.

I keep waiting just getting more eager as the seconds past. I call aria to tell her what happened

"Aria come to the hospital" I say

"Why?"

"It's Maggie" I respond

"I'm on my way" she says and hangs up.

She arrives a few minutes later

"What happened to her" she asks and I tell her everything that happened, and by now she was crying.

About 3 hours later they say we could go in to see her, but only one at a time

"You can go first" aria tells me

"I need to mentally prepare myself for seeing my best friend in pain" she says and I go to Maggie's room.

When I open the door I see needles hooked up to her arms and see stitches on the side of her head, probably where all the blood was coming from.

It hurt me to see her in this condition.

I sat down next to her and took her hand in mine.

The doctor then walked in

"She should wake up soon now, when she does please alert us immediately" he says and leaves the room.

"You'll get through this Maggie, I know you will" I say and place a kiss on her forehead and walk out of the room.
