Stray cats have a tendency of following people around when they want something, so when a pretty bird named Y/N flies into Lorenzo's life, he can't help but jump at the chance to use her. What he doesn't realize is that she knows how to play his gam...
I release a frustrated grunt while pushing through the center of a crowd of people who all seem to be heading in the opposite direction as me. Through the sound of small chatter and the tapping of shoes, I can hear the cars on the road driving through the deep puddles that formed on the asphalt due to last night's heavy rainstorm, and, judging by the dark grey clouds in the sky, it won't be long before another one happens.
'Jesus Christ! I just wanted to go home, not crowd surfing!' My eyes practically light up upon seeing an empty space in a nearby alleyway.
'Finally, an escape from this stampede!' I squeeze my way through the mass of bodies and slip into it with a sigh of relief. I stand there, waiting for the crowd to thin while leaning against the brick wall on my right to catch my breath.
'No way in hell am I taking that route again.' A frown falls on my lips as the street lamps turn on. It's really getting late, which is why everyone's rushing home, but couldn't they just drive instead of parading on the pavement? Jeez. I nearly jump when something fuzzy brushes against my ankle and look down to find a stray cat whose fur is all mangled and covered in filth. The state of its body made me wonder if the poor thing has mange.

I gently tap its side with the tip of my brown boot in hopes that it'll understand that I don't want to pet it. Sadly, the message isn't received; in fact, they welcome the pokes given to their belly. The animal meows cutely before giving a loud purr, melting my heart and making me smile.
"Oh, all right." Using my foot, I pet the animal, since I don't know if it has a disease or any bugs buried in its fur. The cat doesn't seem to mind, though, I'm sure the scene would look odd to an outsider. My head perks up upon hearing a crash further into the dark alley, but I see no one down there. A meow brings my attention back to my feet, where the cat is, but I notice something different about it. It's eyes. They were green before, but, now, they're gold. I hear a chorus of meows come from the alley again, and, when I looked, I find at least fifty pairs of eyes with a similar color and glow staring at me. Feeling nervous about the approaching felines, I look back at the sidewalk and find it completely empty.
'How convenient.' I try to step forward only for the first cat to get in the way of my path, preventing me from leaving the alley. They rub their head against my leg as another comes by to do the same to my left one. Then, more come. They all meow and hiss at me, forcing me to stay put by the wall until I'm completely surrounded by the swarm of stray cats. I can barely move an inch!
'Holy crap! What do I do? I don't want to kick them away. Even if I did, they'd probably scratch the hell out of me.' I freeze upon hearing an amused laugh from above and slowly look up to find an indistinguishable figure standing on the ledge of the building I'm leaning against.
