DEV'S POV
"Lets play a game since the gang is back after 9 years" Priya exclaimed. Me, Rehaan, Priya, Sona, Rohit and Anisha were seating on the terrace of the hotel to recreate all the school memories, although I dont have many
"I guess u know Priya that I wasnt a member of ur gang" I chipped
"May be, u werent back then but now u are, a very important member" Rehaan said and my eyes lighten up. It would have been so great if I realized the importance of friendship before class 10.
"What kind of game?" Sona asked
"Let me suggest. We all have some questions hidden in us which we could nt ask in the past or something to confess" Anisha paused and then resumed with a bottle in her hand, "I will spin the bottle and to whomever it stops can ask any question to anybody present here. The question must be answered" she completed with a warning at the end. I found the game interesting but what will I ask or confess?
"Its gonna be interesting" Rohit uttered
"I dont think the game will last for long" Rehaan said
"It will, dont act mature. We are kids at present" Priya giggled
"Lets spin" Anisha spin the bottle and it was rotating. Its pace has become slow and all the eyes were on it.
"Rohit" We all screamed as it stopped, pointing towards Rohit.
"Its a mutual question to Sona and Rehaan. U guys were bestfriends for more than 5 years and that too, very close. Havent any of u fallen for the other?" He blurted out his question
"Thats a great question Rohit. We always believe that a girl and a boy cannot be best friends without falling for each other. Rehaan, feel free to answer. Priya wont judge u" Anisha winked at Priya. Even I wanna know about it so badly. Back in school, I thought they were in a relationship, until Rehaan introduced me to Priya as his girlfriend
"I would love to answer the question. There were times when she used come to me with loads of complains, 'U know Rehaan, that group is gossiping that u are my boyfriend'.. i would laugh that out always saying, 'Let them say whatever they want, we know what we are'. We laughed, cried, teased, smiled, played pranks, studied, traveled, ate and did everything imaginable.The amount of attachment and comfort level that I share with Sona is unmatched. Nobody could ever take her place in my life, not even Priya
We love each others company.
We love our friendship.
We love how we make the world crazy.
And we love each other. But just as friends." Rehaan looked at Sona's eyes. Her lips curled up into a big smile.
Sona began her version, " Rehaan never stopped cracking jokes about me and teasing me. I used to be so mad at him. But that's how it started. Gradually we became friends and as time passed over the years the bond between us strengthened. As human beings , we usually have a tendency to create romantic projections of every equation shared by two individuals. We tend to talk about love in a romantic way. I disagree. I love my Rehaan. And yes never have I experienced any romantic thoughts about him. Infact I am overjoyed at the thought of him having found his soul mate in Priya. And he feels the same for me as well. But I know that my one mistake just broke us apart for damn 9 years." A lone teear escaped her eyes, Rehaan got up and hugged her
"Dont remember that Sona, it was just a dreadful past and I got over it" he said and sat back to his seat
"Havent u felt insecure about their friendship Priya?" Rohit asked
"One time one question. Spin the bottle Anisha" I said and he gave me a 'Why?' glare.
"Dev.." What? It stopped on me? What am I gonna ask? Yeah, I got it
"I wanna know when and how Rehaan realized his feelings for Priya"
Sona and Rehaan giggled and they drove us to class 10
FLASHBACK(THIRD PERSON POV)
"Rehaan, where are u lost?" Sona was calling him for more than 10 times bt he wasnt responding, instead scribbling something on the last page of his notebook
"Rehaan.." She gave up and screamed.
"Why are u shouting Sona?" he rubbed his ears
"I have been calling u since so long, why arent u responding?" she asked
"I was thinking" he replied
"About what?" she asked
"Nothing serious, just casual thinking. Do I have to take ur permission before this?" he said
"I know that u were travelling in a romantic cruise with Priya" she giggled while Rehaan's eyes popped out in shock
"Nothing like that. Why would I think about her?" he tried to be as calm as possible
"Because u like her" Sona said with ease. Rehaan covered her mouth with his hands
"Stop shouting."
"U dont want me to shout? I will shout. How dare u not tell me anything?" she pouted and rehaan pinched her cheeks
"I have not told u because I wasnt sure of my feelings. How did u get to know?"
"Do I have to remember u one thing that I can easily read ur mind dumbo. The way u look at her, the way u behave when she is around.. Anybody could make an idea and I am specialist in love cases, u see" she said proudly, lifting up her collar
"Ok ok, I know about your talent, dont need to exaggerate" he told her
"Anyways, when are u going to propose?" She asked
"I am not going to do that. What if she rejects? I ll be left with only one option i.e to marry. I cant afford to handle a mad wife" he laughed at his sentence
"Hey, u ll be left with no option because I will also reject u"
"Do u expect any normal boy to marry u?" he teased her
"Of course. U focus on your love story, I ll arrange myself for a boy" Saying this, she turned her face towards the opposite side
"Sorry baba, u ll get the most handsome guy in the world. If u dont, then my options are always open for u" he said and run, while Sonakshi followed him
NO MATTER HOW MANY FRIENDS WE MAKE IN THE COLEGE, CHILDHOOD FRIENDS AND THE MEMORIES WITH THEM WERE THE BEST. THE FIRST CRUSH IN SCHOOL IS SPECIAL IN ALL RESPECT. U MUST HAVE ONE, RIGHT? I TRIED MY BEST TO ANSWER THE QUESTION I MENTIONED IN THE PREVIOUS CHAPTER. HOPE U ALL LIKED IT. SUGGESTIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.
