On his way to work, Logan thought about the girl at the bookstore. She actually looked sorta familiar.....
"HEY WATCH IT."
"Sorry sir!" Logan avoids getting hit by a cab while trying to pull out his cell until he realized he left it at the bookstore.....Logan enters his work building and quickly dials Chad's number on his office phone.
Ring......ring......ring....ring....
"What Logan?"
"Is that any way to treat an old friend you haven't spoken to in weeks?" Logan knew how Chad acted, but was still sensitive to his words.
"You never call me unless you need something, and aren't you at work?"
"Never mind that. I met a girl." Logan hears Chad laugh hysterically over the phone.
"Oh really? Is she real or animated?"
"I did! At a bookstore near my work. Her name's Daysi." The laughing stopped.
"Wait, her name is Daysi? Bookstore? Which one?"
"The small one on the corner with all those "cute" decorations." Chad burst out into laughter again, only even harder this time. "Why are you laughing now????"
"That "girl" Daysi is my best friend. Remember? We've known each other since middle school...You guys were really close for a period of time too.... Does any of this ring a bell?"
Logan almost dropped the phone realizing he stumbled stupidly into the bookstore of his high school "best friend". He frantically waved his hands in the air in frustration. Then, he hung up the phone and ran out of his office back toward the bookstore.
"MR.FULLER, WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?" Logan ignores his boss and hears his co-workers whistling and clapping. The streets are full of cars and people going to work or to school. As he nears the front of the shop, he crosses the street without looking, seeing Daysi setting fresh tulips outside the shop.
"WATCH OUT!"
SCREEEEECH
Daysi screamed for Arielle as Logan got hit by the cab he saw minutes ago on his way toards the ffice. The impact wasn't large, but Logan, being a small, skinny male, got a little woozy. Not seeing blood, Arielle and Daysi pull him out of the street, and into the store. They lay him on the couch and Arielle begins cleaning the few scraps on his hands and face.
"LOGAN!" Daysi kneels at his side and tries to keep him awake. "DON'T DIE ON ME." Logan loses consciousness, but Arielle checks his pulse to reassure Daysi.
"He's alive, Days. Calm yourself. He's asleep. Let's leave him alone for a while."
Daysi stared at him concernedly, but backed off. "Okay, fine...."

A few hours passed, and it became dark. Logan awoke hearing Daysi's and Arielle's voices in the other room.
"You mostly look the same, Days! I have no idea how he hasn't recognized you yet." They took sips of their Jasmine Green tea and both glanced in Logan's direction who had fallen asleep once again.
"He was always a feckless child." Daysi sighs and then turned her head, hearing the door chime. She saw a flash of blond hair in the light and took a guess at the visitor. "Chad?"
"Hey Days, I...." Chad stops mid-sentence and sees Logan sleeping on the couch. "What the hell happened?" Arielle popped out from her chair to bring Chad a cup of coffee almsot instinctively. He never preferred tea.
"He had a little.......accident, but he's fine." Chad takes the coffee from Arielle willingly, but the tension between the two still hung in the air.
"Little?" Chad sipped his coffee while it was still steaming hot with not even a flinch.
"Hit by a car, but not fully. Bumped?" Arielle shrugged and reseated herself.
Chad scowled at her. "Do you ever take anything seriously?"
Arielle's eyes narrowed in his directions like a cat to a laser. "Actually, I tend to-"
"Stop it you two." Daysi appeared upset with her hands on her hips amd her pretty face in a pout. Arielle and Chad both looked at Daysi, and immediately settled down. Childishly, the two started umbling things into their drinks like,
-"He started it."
-"She jokes inappropriately."
-"He needs to lighten up."
-"Why am I being reprimended?"
Daysi walked over to smack Chad on the head, and Arielle on the arm, making both of them frown. "Shush, you might wake up Logan, and for all we know-"
Logan yawned and stretched out his arms. "Where am I-" Trying to stand, Logan fell off the couch and onto the floor. "Oww..." Logan looked around to see Arielle, Daysi, and Chad all staring at him. Chad sighed, and stepped towards Logan to help him up.
"Logan. Daysi. Daysi. Logan" When Chad reintroduced the two, Logan stretched out a hand, and Daysi examined it.
Just like that morning..... Suddenly, Daysi dashed for the stairs. Being an old football player, Chad got there before her, and blocked the way. Arielle grabbed Daysi from behind, and pulled her onto the couch.
Daysi crossed her arms to pout. "You guys sucks."
"Aww com'n Days. Reunited and it feels so good." They all laughed as Arielle's singing is slightly off key. Chad checked his watch, and realized how late it was.
"Sorry to kill the fun, but I have to go." Chad began to gather his stuff, but before he could leave, Arielle got up as well.
"Wait, we have to meet up again. Is next Wednesday okay?" Arielle looked around the room to see all heads nod. Arielle smiled, and gathered her things as well. "Alright! See you all next week!" She ran to the door, and left with Chad. Daysi and Logan laughed as the two bickered, not so quietly, on their way out.
Logan scratched the back of his head and awkwardly looked at the floor. "Umm could I get my phone back?"
"Oh yeah!" Daysi jumped off the couch and retrieved the phone from behind the register. "Here you go." They stared at each other. After a minute or so, Daysi wrapped her arms around his neck, and stood on her tippy toes. Logan quietly gasped, but returned the hug. They stayed that way for a while until Daysi's whisper broke the everlasting silence, "I missed you."
