Akashi passed the ball to Mayuzumi, who changed the passing course, and the ball went to Nebuya. "Alright!" he shouted when catching the ball before scoring a basket.
"To think they had such an ambush ready." said Aomine. "A new type of Phantom Sixth Man."
"Nice pass!" praised Nebuya as he patted Mayuzumi's back before running off.
'It's not like I'm doing it for you guys.' he thought. 'If the pass goes through, it makes me feel good. If you're in a good spot, I'll pass to you.'
"It's just one shot!" said Hyuga. "Let's get one back!"
"Yeah!" responded Kiyoshi.
'How will we deal with Mayuzumi?' questioned Izuki, who had the ball. 'We have to do something.'
"I know!" said Kawahara when he thought of an idea. "How about we match Kuroko up against him? He's versed in misdirection, so he might not lose sight of him!"
"No, that's impossible." answered Riko. "Because..." The benchwarmers followed her gaze to see Akashi passing the ball to Mayuzumi, who was then guarded closely by Mitobe. But instead of passing, Mayuzumi made a shot, scoring another basket for the team.
'He can shoot like any normal guy too?' questioned Kagami disbelievingly.
"If Kuroko-kun guards him, we might be able to stop the misdirection." continued the coach. "But, if it becomes one-on-one, there's no way he can win!" Upon hearing the last bit, Yasu's eyes slightly widened with realisation, and looked at Mayuzumi, who was staring at Kuroko from the corner of his eyes while running to join his teammates.
'See that?' he scoffed internally. 'This is my play-style. I'm of a totally caliber than you!' It was his turn to be surprised when Kuroko was staring back at him. 'He's looking at me. No, he's observing me?'
"A seven-point lead." noted Koganei when he saw the scoreboard. "We have to do something about this!"
"Alright!" said Riko before getting up from her seat.
Just then, the buzzer went off before the panel announced, "Black team, member change." Much to everyone's surprise, a trembling Furihata was shoved to the court by the coach, who had a triumphed look. Even Murasakibara was surprised by the substitution, as an uneasy look flickered across his face.
"Aomine-san, this is..." trailed off the worried Sakurai.
"There's nothing about it." replied the said boy, who had dark lines and drips of cold sweat on his face. "I only see a chihuahua standing in front of a lion."
"What is she thinking?" shrieked the three Uncrowned Kings.
"B-B-Bring it!" stammered Furihata, who was marking Akashi.
'I've never seen Akashi looking so lost in front of a player.' noted Yasu with a sweat drop on the back of her head.
"Sei-chan, throw the ball in!" called Reo.
"Yeah." he responded. Just as he turned to join his teammates, Furihata tripped on his own feet and fell to the floor with his face planted down, causing Akashi to stare with dark lines all over his side.
"This is so scary I can't bear to watch." said Nebuya, causing Kiyoshi to look at him. "I won't trash-talk, but sub him for someone decent!"
"You actually have a kind heart!" praised the latter before letting out a laugh.
"Are you an idiot?" scolded Nebuya.
Kiyoshi then gave him an assuring look, saying, "But, it's okay. We're dead serious."
