It had been 2 weeks since mine and Jade's first date and whilst we hadn't yet been on another one, we spoke everyday and saw each other every time we were both at work. We didn't get to see each other for very long whilst we were at work, usually 10-15 minutes maximum but it was okay. It was enough time for now; it was enough time for us to share some kisses as well which was always an added bonus. Hopefully we'd be able to go on another date soon. I could put Mackenzie in nursery all day again and we would have the afternoon, or I could ask for a day off work. I was working extra shifts this week, covering for one of the girls who's dad was ill so she'd gone home for a bit, which meant I'd have some spare money to pay for more hours at nursery - I was also being paid double for these shifts because there was no one else who could cover them so that was a huge help. It did mean though that I'd had to bring Mackenzie to work with me for a couple of days this week but it wasn't too bad. She'd been quite happy playing or watching tv in the back office; she was a really good kid, though I may be a little bit bias considering she's mine.

A flash of brown hair walked past the window and I could of sworn it was Jade's but she didn't know I was working today so surely it wasn't her. Considering there wasn't much to do I followed the person with my eyes as they made the way past the shop. Just before they went out of view their head turned my way for a fraction of a second and the person skidded to a stop. I watched the man behind swerve to avoid them whilst infuriatingly shaking their head, likely muttering something under their breath. I watched with interest as the person reversed towards the door, it was quite comical really - the kind of thing you see in films. The door was pushed open and the brown haired girl stepped inside but I couldn't make out their face as they were partially obscured by a book shelf and display table. I quickly looked away and pretended to be busy so it didn't look like I'd just been watching them for the past 5 minutes.

"You didn't tell me you were working today." Jade. I could now recognise her voice everywhere. Of course it was her; we often ran into each other when we least expected it. I wasn't complaining though; I craved any time I spent with Jade. I looked up and caught her gaze before flashing her a smile.

"Yeah, I'm not supposed to be. It was a last minute thing. I'm covering someone's shifts this week." I shrugged casually as I replied.

"That's lucky for me isn't it." She replied and she leant over the counter to kiss me. It was an innocent, chaste kiss but it still sent electricity down my spine. The counter between us did make it awkward though as we both had to stretch forwards to reach each other. Eventually, the twinge of pain from the edge of the counter digging into my hip forced me to pull away.

"I like that greeting. You should greet me like that every time you see me." I said playfully.

Jade smiled coyly, "maybe I will." I pressed myself into the counter again and gave her another quick peck on the lips in response.

"Anyway, what you doing here? Are you stalking me?" I teased and Jade laughed.

"You wish! If I was you'd get to see my pretty face a lot more and I'd get to see your pretty face a lot more too, win win situation for both of us." I fought the smile that was pulling at the edge of my lips and maintained a serious face as I raised an eyebrow.

"Who said I thought your face was pretty?" I was lying and Jade knew it, I could tell from the playful look in her eyes. Jade's face was actually perfect, I would probably even say it's one of the prettiest I'd seen but it was her eyes that were my favourite, they captivated me. In one light they looked like molten chocolate and in another they were more of a lighter brown. One look in her eyes and I could tell what she was feeling, her emotions swirled in the depths of them and I felt like I could lose myself in their depth if I stared in them for too long.
