Jades POV

The sunlight filtering through the curtains threatened to fully drag me from the sleep I was still desperately clinging to. I rolled over to try and escape it and blindly patted to bed next to me, searching for Perrie's body so I could pull her closer and bury my face in her hair. Instead of Perrie's warm body, I found only cold sheets. With the realisation that Perrie was no longer lying in bed next to me sinking into my brain, I forced my eyes open. The brightness had me squinting but I could still see clearly enough to work out that not only was Perrie not in bed with me; she wasn't even in the room. I decided to wait a few minutes to see if she returned before I went looking for her, I mean she might have only gone to the toilet. Her jeans and top were still folded where she'd left them last night so I was reassured that Perrie hadn't bolted and was still in my house somewhere.

After about 5 minutes and still no sign of Perrie, I decided to drag myself out of bed and go find her. I found her in the first place I decided to look: the room Mackenzie had slept in. Both of them were still fast asleep. Perrie was lying awkwardly: half slumped against the bed and half against the wall with her hand resting on Mackenzie's back. Mackenzie on the other hand was curled up and pressed tightly to her mother's side. I smiled at the two of them and crept silently backwards out of the room, pulling the door closed behind me. I figured I'd go and make breakfast and leave them to sleep for a bit longer.

Perrie had told me once that she loved pancakes but she'd said she rarely had them for 2 reasons: first she never had the time to make them and second she'd said (and I'm using her words here) 'I'm a shit cook'. Once I'd cleared up the plates and pizza boxes from last night I decided to treat the two of them so I set about making pancakes, pulling the ingredients and scales out of cupboards and weighing and sieving them into a bowl.

Probably about 15 minutes later and I was just pouring the mixture of the first pancake into the pan. It sizzled when it hit the hot pan and I stepped back slightly to escape the blast of heat. I stepped right back into someone's chest but arms wrapped around my waist and held me steady.

"Something smells really good." Perrie muttered against the shell of my ear and her breath tickled the side of my neck; I couldn't keep the smile off my face as I turned to face her.

"Morning Pez." I replied simply as I kissed the tip of her nose making her scrunch it up adorably. I would have kissed her properly but I spied Mackenzie sitting cross legged in the middle of the kitchen table watching us with bleary eyes and I was aware that we hadn't told her about us yet and I didn't know how Perrie felt about telling her. "Why is Mackenzie sat on the table?" I asked, amusement creeping into my voice. Perrie frowned at spun round, her hold on my waist dropping.

"What? Kenz I told you to sit at the table not on it babe, you might fall and hurt yourself." Perrie exclaimed as she made her way over to the table and I took the chance to flip the pancake over so it wouldn't burn. She scooped Mackenzie up and instantly both her arms and legs locked tight around Perrie's body. When Perrie went to put her down on a chair Mackenzie's limbs seemed to tighten further and she clung to Perrie like her life depended on it.

"No Mummy!" She cried which caused Perrie's face to screw up in concern.

"What's wrong Monkey? Why won't you sit at the table?"

"I couldn't see you Mummy." I watched Perrie try and think it through before she decided it was not a battle worth fighting so she simply sighed and then carried her over to stand back next to me with an apologetic look on her face. I just shook my head at her and gave her a smile to let her know it was fine. Perrie threw a dazzling smile in my direction and I felt my stomach flip. When she reached my side again she shifted Mackenzie slightly so she was more comfortably situated on her hip before leaning in. I knew exactly what she was going for and it took a lot of effort to turn my head at the last second so her lips landed on my cheek. She pulled back and a pout was settled firmly on her lips with a questioning look in her eyes.
