Sasuke's POV

I looked up from my phone, glaring at my parents. Anger made my heart feel like it was about to burst, and I wanted to know what the hell was going on. My parents looked at me without regret or pain, their cold eyes watching my every move. I threw my phone to the ground, making it break into a million pieces.

"Sasuke-" My mother started.

"Don't," I replied, "Just don't."

My father cleared his throat and looked at me, calling my name to get my attention.

"Sasuke. We are both aware that this is a shock to you, but everything we do is for a reason."

"YOU'RE KIDDING RIGHT?! I HAVEN'T SEEN THE LOVE OF MY LIFE FOR ALMOST A YEAR BECAUSE I WAS HELD FUCKING CAPTIVE, AND THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY??!" I screamed, fury rising in the back of my throat, making my face hot and my hands turn to fists.

"You have responsibilities Sasuke."

"Responsibilities my ass. Don't-" I started, shaking my head.

"We've decided." My father cut me off with his usual monotone voice.

"Decided what?" I asked, wondering how they could mess my life up any more.

Naruto's POV

Tears streamed down my face as my knees buckled in shock. I fell to the ground, my mind racing with confusion. I was deaf to my parents' questions, Sasuke was the only thing on my mind. I finally came to my senses and stood up quickly.

I faced my parents, speaking with urgency coating my words,"Mom. Dad. I have to go. I have to find him," I said as I turned to leave. I didn't care what was happening around me, the only thing that mattered was finding Sasuke.

I felt a hand grab my wrist as the security blocked my exit. I turned to see my mother with tears brimming her eyes. I searched them, wanting to know what was going on.

"Naruto.. sit," my father said from his seat.

"Dad I have to-," I started.

"SIT."

I sat down, my leg shaking with anxiety.

"We understand we haven't been with you. And it's because we wanted to keep you out of this life." My dad stated, his voice stern but loving.

"Recently our clan has been facing some... issues. Issues that could wipe us out. Forever," he continued.

I looked up at him in confusion.

"Dad I don't understand.. what are you talking about?" I asked.

Both Sasuke and Naruto's POVs

"You're going to be the head of this family. Instated as soon as possible." My eyes widened immediately. Did he just..

Sauske's POV

My mind swirled with unanswered questions but mostly with anger.

"Father you can't just do this. I have my own life."

He stopped me, raising his hand to silence my pleas. "Sasuke. You WILL be the new head of this clan. We are closing down on the Uzumaki case and we need you more than ever. If you don't comply, we will make your life miserable. Starting with removing that Uzumaki. We are your family Sasuke. Blood. Nothing is more important than that."

I clenched my fists tightly. My head dropped as I stared at my lap.

Fuck. He knew. He knew I only went along with his plans to protect Naruto. He knew I knew something was going on.. At least I beat him to it. Now that Naruto is far away from me, he won't get hurt..

I closed my eyes tightly, biting my lip until blood dripped.

3rd POV

Before Naruto could say anything, his mom began to speak.

"Naruto. We're doing this because we need you now. Our clan has power. We can help you find your lover." she said, looking at him.

"Mom... I can't do this. I don't know anything about being the head of a family. I still need to find Sasuke. I can't lead," Naruto said, pain in his voice.

"Stay with us. We'll train you. We'll help you find Sasuke."

Naruto leaned in and hugged his mom, his tear stained face burrowing into her shoulder. "I'm so grateful.." he whispered.

She rubbed his back in light circles while making eye contact with his father. They both knew they had to keep Naruto close, so he wouldn't discover their true intentions.. they couldn't let their only son, and heir, be with the son of their rival clan:... the Uchihas. Especially in their current situation. Minato sighed with sadness. He didn't want to do this to his son.. but this was how it had to be.
