Chapter Fourteen - The Truth Is A Terrible Thing.

“That was probably the longest taxi ride of my life” Josh's hand drew closer around my waist, He whispered in my ear keeping a smile on his face.

“Nah the time you puked on me was longer” I had to look away to laugh, Fragments of the night are coming back to me and me puking on Josh was one I can only associate with the feeling of happiness, Dan ran ahead of us to the entrance of the club and once again I found myself on that familiar strip where it all began, But on this Saturday it was packed with people pooling out of all the clubs smoke music and voices filling the air, I look up towards the club sign the neon  burning my eyes slightly, I felt josh tug on my waist pulling me into the club and ahead of us I see Matt walking with Rachel hand in hand, both me and Josh looked at each other and sighed, I loved josh why was Matt hell bent on ruining everything we started, We walk forward into the club the bouncer taking across the velvet rope, I recognised this bouncer as the one working on my birthday, He gave me a small curt nod after he closed the rope, I followed the guys to some spiral stairs, Why did I wear heels Josh supporting me every step of the way when we got up there it was decorated with birthday banners and had its own bar, Dan ran up to Lilly giving her a rather awkward hug.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS” Everyone gave Dan a funny look but I knew what was going on, There was something between them and I was going to find out what exactly, Max didn't even seem phased if only he knew, The bar manager came out with several bottles of champagne and we started to drink but I looked over and noticed that Lilly was still nursing a full glass when everyone was on there third, I thought nothing of it and sat down next to Josh on the plush red leather couches.

“I need to talk to you about something” Josh’s face dropped, He knew I was being serious.

“My dad got the contract and everything so that’s good..” I trailed off not wanting to tell him I had to leave.

“Please Ella you know you can tell me anything what is it ?” I decided to just blurt it out, No point dragging this on.

“Its in new york and hes offered me a position as his second in command” Josh’s arms wrapped around me, He started blurting things out aimlessly.

“What about your mums house and college and your new friends what about me Ella you cant tell me you love me and then leave”I didn't want to leave but that company was my future, Ive never felt like I didn't have a future before, I needed that job it was the only one I could get.

“I want to stay josh so bad he even gave me some money so I could get myself a flat but I'm just worried I wont get a job Ive never had that insecurity” a smile crossed Josh’s face.

“What?” Now was not a smiling time.

“Ive seen your work your amazingly good and I was wondering instead of going back to college just take the qualification from your first two years and come work for dbno the website the designs newsletters and I'm sure the label would let you design some youmeatsix stuff too if you want then you can stay here in weybride and tour with us and live with me ?” This was happening all too fast, He was offering me a job and a place to stay and security, I need to clear my head.

“Wow that’s wow can I have some air ill be back” Josh kissed me on the cheek and nodded, When I got up I noticed that both Lilly and Dan wasent in the room, I walked back down the stairs and into the street needing some peace and quiet, The bouncer stamped my hand with some UV thing, I walked into the dimly lit ally looking down I could see two people, A woman with her back to the wall the man his hands on her from where I was standing it looked like he was hurting her, I ran down the alley at them every step them becoming more recognisable getting closer to the two figures I could see the man had fallen to the floor and was sat with his legs crossed, I decided to speak up.
