"Real girls are never perfect and perfect girls are never real"
—————————————————————————

After the kiss everything went back to normal.

Shane was back in my life, and things felt right like that.

We spent the weekend catching up and forgetting any of our worries.

I avoided Jasper like the plague, and things were going pretty good.

After all that happened I was actually happy to go to school on Monday.

When I walked through the school doors with my jacket slung over my shoulder I was feeling pretty confident.

The day went by quickly, and was like any other Monday except for a little run-in I had with Alana at the end of the day.

The first thing I saw when I reached my locker was a very deadly looking Alana Decker.

She was leaning against my locker with a scowl on her face as she glared at her phone.

Tapping at her Instagram feed I thought her phone was going to shatter.

Once she noticed me walking towards her her scowl deepened.

She pushed off the locker and walked over to me glaring holes into my head.

I swear I heard her growl too almost like a bear.

I walked past her and went right to my locker.

She only followed me there.

I took out my books and things I needed for class.

Then I sighed and turned to meet her eyes.

As much as I wanted to say that we talked it out like polite young woman that just wasn't the case.

That's never been the case with Alana she's never civil with you especially if your in between her and something she wants.

"You had no right to ruin the good thing I had going with Shane!" She seethed.

In this case I was in her way and Shane is what she wanted.

"Ha- there was nothing going on between you and Shane" I laughed remaining surprisingly calm.

"You need to back off" she pointed a freshly painted nail at me "Shane loves me your just confusing him." She glared.

This was amusing to me to watch her so angry and sadly delusional.

"Alright listen her Decker" I pushed her hand back towards her chest. "The thing is Shane never loved you, He never has never will you were a fling, a distraction you meant nothing to him."

"B-u" she started with a fire in her eyes looking like she could just about kill me right then and there.

"That's all you are Alana nothing, and don't even think for a second you can bully me into staying away from him I grew up I learned how to silence people  like you so just step back bitch and leave me and my friends alone." I finished giving her one last lingering look.

Her mouth opened to say something, but I just shoved past her.

I met Hannah and Justin in our first class of the day.

Sadly Shane had History first hour while we all had English.

I took my regular corner seat next to Justin while Hannah sat in front of me.

"So have you and him talked about it?" Hannah asked curiously.

Referring to Mine and Shane's little kiss.

My face got warmer just thinking about it.

"No not really I think we're both just trying to figure things out" I answered her shrugging.

"Come on we have been waiting for this to happen for like 2 years now!" Justin piped in throwing his hands up.

"Oh come on Justin it's not gonna be like some movie romance" I teased knowing he "secretly" loved his romance movies.

"Hey, romance movies are sweet." He said crossing his arms pouting.

Sometimes I swear he was a 2 year old stuck in a teenagers body.

Then I remember he's practically a genius.

I had always wondered late at night who Hannah and Justin would end up with.

Old and married with kids of their own, but who would be standing by their side.

For some odd reason I always wondered if they would end up together.

The day flew by pretty fast.

Shane joined us at lunch, and everything felt pretty normal.

Then we all decided to hangout at my house for a while.

Justin fell asleep first on the couch.

I made sure to text his mom that he was staying the night.

Hannah was next leaning on Justin.

Once again that left me and Shane alone.

I looked over to him.

He was focused on his favorite Disney movie The Little Mermaid.

I watched as he mouthed the lyrics to Kiss The Girl.

I let out a small laugh and he turned to me.

He flashed me a perfect smile and leaned closer to me.
He started quietly singing along to me.

And you don't know why

But your dying to try

You wanna kiss the girl

His eyes flickered to my lips.

I instantly knew what he was thinking.

I cupped his face into my hands, and then softly pressed my lips on his.

I felt him smile against my lips, and that made me smile too.

We slowly pulled apart.

I moved closer to him snuggling against his side.

He wrapped his arm around me, and I fell asleep.

Just like that.
